Such a huge relief to see this kind of a departure from the know-it-all chef and restraunteur-types who usually populate these shows. This is just a normal guy, reacting to amazing food the same way that you or I would react. 

"Holy shit this is amazing!" (Only without "shit" because it airs on PBS.)
A bit dorky, but still very likable, and some amazing places and amazing-looking food so far. I am loving this show.
 
Best food-travel show on TV.
Hell, maybe the best show on TV, period!

I would probably enjoy this show if I could get past his voice.

Yeah, outside of a few very specific contexts (such as Woody Allen movies), I'm not a fan of that New York accent/Jewish cadence either. However, I can deal with it here. Show is just too good.

The face he makes when he tastes something he likes is very odd.....eyes pop out and the weird smilely grimace. Whatever, the Barcelona show was still cool.
