Full disclosure: I'm just watching the end of the DVR'd Super Bowl, and the setlist may be out of order or wrought with omissions. I'd appreciate corrections.

Star Wars

Handshake Drugs

Kamera/ Camera - industrial version

IATTBYH

Art of Almost

Sunken Treasure (positively gorgeous)

Box full of Letters

Hummingbird

Dawned on Me

Heavy Metal Drummer

ITMWLY

impossible

Late Greats

Spiders (Kidsmoke)

Misunderstood

War on War

Its Just that Simple (immaculate vocals)

Shot in the Arm

Space Oddity

Observations:

John pogo'd  briefly during the jam of Where We Are (and Where do I Begin)  and Spiders.

Jeff drawn out intro chord for ITMWLY and a master solo

Pat reminded me of Schroeder as he patently hit his spots on the xylophone when not accentuating banjos and harmonies during the finale.

Used to the floor, I was Pat side about 8 rows up, above the boxes but with a great , different vantage point. What I lost in sound  was more than made up in my Glenn vantage point. He was mesmerizing and amazing- 25+ shows and I found my attention centering on his time and versatility. I'll always remember this as a GLENN show  Surprisingly, the best box departed before the acoustic segment, so I jumped in.

I believe that due to the respect that Magnetized was given, we were rewarded with the Sunken Treasure.

the bands enthusiasm, bravery, and commitment to presenting Star Wars as a performance piece, The musicianship (is that a word) shone through. You could tell it was an important musical statement to every band member- it resonated as a fan.

Jeff emphasized " i don't believe in TOUCHDOWNS"

banter highlights -sic :

not exactly perfect-

" thanks for listening to our new album, "Star Wars"

"thanks for coming out on a national holiday - we are all Jews at a chinese restaurant"

" Whats the score? (crowd respnse) ""Don't Care"

i noticed Jeff waving during Hummingbird to some folks in seats  parallel to the stage- he acknwledged "thanks, i  don't think I'd sit there" with his effervescent sincerity- funny, not snarky.

For me : MVP:

I'll enjoy that recording!  The sound wasn't nearly as bad as I was led to believe in the boxes on Nels' side.  We took a couple of newbies and they loved it!  I thought there was a good, enthusiastic crowd for Superbowl Sunday.  The whole floor stood for the whole show.  I do not want to go to work today!  Dave, nice to finally meet you.

I've seen a lot of shows in DAR, and that was easily the best that venue has ever sounded.  I was mid-way back on the floor for Star Wars, but we didn't want to stand for the whole thing, and found a couple seats a 2/3rds back, half way up, on the side, then back to the floor seats for the encores.  Perfect sound, with of course somewhat fuller bass on the floor.

Great show! Worth missing most of the SB for it, that's for sure.
