silsurf
I have seen the name Henry Kaiser many times over music blogs over the years, but it was not until last night I thought "who is this guy" Two things came to my immediate attention. 1. He is clearly pals with Nels 2. He has some serious music history and is somehow related to interesting bootleg recordings. This was evinced when I saw "Lineage:SBD 16-track tape->Henry Kaiser's tape->2nd gen tape" on a 1970 Captain Beefheart compilation. Anyone want to elucidate on this guy? Thanks Henry
calvino
They (Cline and Kaiser) were on the below, too. Interesting record.

jw harding
I'm just aware of him via his association with the Grateful Dead, and his early cover of Dark Star. He was an early fan of the band, and attended an Acid Test in 1966, when he would've been 14 years old. Yikes. Pretty interesting interview here: http://www.philzone.com/interviews/kaiser/
mountain bed
If you can locate it definitely seek out "Those Who Know History Are Doomed To Repeat It" (1988). I don't think it ever came out on CD. It's a bizarre, wonderful LP - the obvious centerpiece being a 30 minute Dark Star > Other One combo, which has one of the best psychedelic electric violin solos around.
