just a joke about how far the right will seem to go in defining what's moral and immoral. Adoption is the way to go, absolutely. Wish more people would opt for it, even those without reproductive difficulties. We may have enough people here already. -
well in some aspects I agree with you Kevin, but until now, we've never faced the catastrophe of dwindling oil supply, global warming and the mass extinction of species, with the all domino effect repercussions that holds. (Not the mention the global political atmosphere of anti-Americanism.) We are rich bullies, used to getting our way by force or financial coersion. Bullies always get their comeuppance. Im generally an optimist about life too, or had been until I began to feel that we've reached a state where there's no turning back. Sucks to feel that way about what I think HAD been

Im a godless immoral heathen. -
okay, he's mini-me and probably not smart enough to be evil.

well, that part was actually drafted under Reagan's auspices. It took Bush to put bring it back to life.

I don't disagree with him. The great democratic experiment has failed, corrupted by the power hungry and the money grubbing. Since I worked in Congress back in the covered wagon days, I have always given my father a flag flown over the Capitol for his birthday or father's day. We both decided a couple years ago that there was no longer any honor in flying an American flag that had been raised over the rotunda of the Capitol. If I had a flag, it would be flying at half mast, as my parents is, to commemorate the obscene numbers of people (Americans and others) who have died ostensibly "k

I've been carrying around a lifetime supply of potential humans, and DAMN ME! I've only allowed two of them to potentiate into human beings!! -
yes, but I thought this masterful display of his 3rd grade understanding of world geography added a new twist. Oh, Canada!

but wait! there's more! By Cenk Uygur, HuffingtonPost.com. Posted July 19, 2006. The transcript of the President's latest mishap with a microphone reveals the undeniable fact that Bush is an imbecile. You know it, I know it and the American people know it. But everyone is afraid to say it. They say it privately, but people are afraid of saying it publicly because you will be branded as a liberal, elite, intellectual snob. But believe me, you don't have to be an intellectual to see how painfully stupid our president is. Just look at the conversation he is having with world leaders at t

Bush could seize absolute control of U.S. government By DOUG THOMPSON Publisher, Capitol Hill Blue Jan 13, 2006, 07:42 President George W. Bush has signed executive orders giving him sole authority to impose martial law, suspend habeas corpus and ignore the Posse Comitatus Act that prohibits deployment of U.S. troops on American streets. This would give him absolute dictatorial power over the government with no checks and balances. Bush discussed imposing martial law on American streets in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by activating

I have a moral objection to the government using most of my tax dollars to kill people who have actually been born, while failing to provide for citizens who lack the most basic survival needs. The only thing that gives me any satisfaction in relation to this moron sitting at the helm is that karma's got him in its sights. -
I wasn't down with the whining "but I want ....." "but I don't like ...", etc My response was , that's dinner if you don't want it, don't eat it. And the threat of withheld dessert usually did the trick. The worst story I ever heard was from my ex whose Navy dad was a clean-plate fascist. He made one of the kids eat something that made him gag and puke. And then made him eat THAT before they could leave the table.

is this one of the human beings the Constitution had in mind? What the fuck ... they didn't even provide that rights were applicable to anyone but white men! There's a couple other versions of embryonic stem cell legislation that are apparently 'less objectionable' and likely to get past the # of votes required to override that brainless twit's veto. and his table manners are deplorable. Talk about respect and dignity. Ha! -
what time should I be there ction? Can I bring anything?

Oh i used to be disgusted And now i try to be amused. But since their wings have got rusted, You know, the angels wanna wear my red shoes. But when they told me 'bout their side of the bargain, That's when i knew that i could not refuse. And i won't get any older, now the angels wanna wear my red shoes. I was watching while you're dancing away. Our love got fractured in the echo and sway. How come everybody wants to be your friend? You know that it still hurts me just to say it. Oh, i know that she's disgusted (oh why's that) Cause she's feeling so abused. (oh that's too bad) She gets tire

Once mine were grown, I had considerably less tolerance for having to listen/deal with OPK in restaurants, etc.

Come and talk of all the things we did today Here and laugh about our funny little ways While we have a few minutes to breathe And I know that it's time you must leave But, darling, be home soon I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled My darling, be home soon It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled For the great relief of having you to talk to And now a quarter of my life is almost passed I think I've come to see myself at last And I see that the time spent confused Was the time that I spent without you And I feel myself in bloom But, darling, b

saw him in 76 at the gym at Georgetown U .... I had Bruce on heavy heavy rotation during high school and college. Spent alot of time in my college years at the Joisey Shaw, where my husband's family had a house in Seaside Heights, so I was fully steeped in the Bruce atmospherics and lore. I usually get some Bruce in on a long drive -- particularly when Im driving past Promised Land State Park in PA. My records were in grave danger of being cracked over my mothers knee "if I hear that song ONE MORE TIME!@!!!!" I bet my Mom still knows most of the words from Born to Run. Last alb

Any peeves I have revolve around the failure of my children to adhere to my relatively lax housekeeping standards. Other than that, I'm blessedly peeveless.

Yep ... your friend doggedly guarded your space from me before you arrived. I second ALL that!! It was a nearly last minute decision to go, and Im so glad I did. Who knew there was a silent VC contingent from Vermont?!? Very sorry I missed bbop's big moment.

I missed MeDave and Peel'n'Al?? I thought the venue was gorgeous. A guy outside told me when other acts had appeared there (he mentioned Dylan) they cleared everyone out of the park so no one would get a free listen. That is one beautiful and busy park -- pedal boats, water spray park, tennis courts, big fields, a kiddy choo-choo that circled the park, gardens. Very lovely -- kudos to the town of Florence.
