Canadian dates More to follow, I hope.

I'm slowly working my way through Have Not Been The Same which has a chapter about the Halifax indie scene in the early '90s (and another devoted to Sloan). It might be out of print now, but it's worth looking for (used).

I visited Cape Breton Island a few years ago and loved it! It's such a beautiful place (and I have very high standards for scenery, living in BC) and the people are a blast - so funny and open. And I'll never forget the Lick-A-Chick.

True. Although Wilco played a show in Portland, ME earlier this week, so they were in the general vicinity. Of course, when ferries are involved (for places like Halifax, NS and Victoria, BC), costs go up.

When I saw your name in this thread Charles, I knew there would be an awesome picture. That's great!

Where are you from in NS TamedXR&R? I love Atlantic Canada (especially NS and PEI). I really want to visit Nfld someday. It would be very cool if they played smaller cities, but a "Canadian tour" usually looks something like this: Toronto And possibly one or more of the following: Montreal Winnipeg Calgary Vancouver Maybe they should get a few other bands to join them and do a "Festival Express" trip across the country by train.

Flat, I guess. (I've actually never been there. ) The Kee would be pretty cool. I've always wanted to see it.

Thanks for posting that. (Sadly, I had to miss the MSG show.) The other day, I was watching some old live performances from 1996/97 and Jeff used to sing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" without a guitar (sometimes he did a little crowd surfing as well).

And Moose Jaw, SK (my hometown).

Nice to see a little Canada love. In March, Nels mentioned that Wilco would be doing a Canadian tour (from west to east) in July. Mikael apparently said something similar last night in Portland. It would be cool if they included some smaller places like Victoria, BC and Halifax, NS as well, but that's probably asking too much.
-
Nice! Nels said something similar last month, so this sounds promising.

Glenn must be crushed.

Thanks for sharing your pics Sandy, they look great!

Ridiculous.

On my flight home today, I concluded that Saturday was probably the most perfect day ever: slept 'til noon duck fat fries & a dog (w/ radioactive relish ) at Hot Doug's nap skipped dinner and went straight for the dessert buffet hung out with some of my favourite people on the planet Dave (who indulged my Dylan fixation with a cover of Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues) Mart (who inspired me to dust off my old Stevie Wonder albums) Jeff! more music and laughter until sunrise (as walrus said, "Sing it like you're singing to Jesus!") I'm a big believer in "setlist Zen" and being open to exp

Still waiting for the candy jock strap pics.

Just rolled out of bed and this is all just starting to sink in. Life just doesn't get any better than a room filled with good music and good friends. I'll admit that I shed a few wistful, happy tears when I first woke up this morning. (I'm still half asleep, so I'll probably have more to say later.) Thanks to Jeff and Susan for making this possible, Sam n' Sooz for being such wonderful hosts, and the rest of you crazy, beautiful freaks for just being the wonderful people that you are.

! I want a full report when I see you in Chicago Paul.

I had to stop reading Too Close for Comfort about halfway through because I was getting too upset. Next up: Edit: Now about halfway through this. Some minor errors (Scott has obviously confused Neil's solo performance at the Bottom Line in '74 with another show on the Tonight's The Night tour in '73), but the personal stories are gold. I love the mental image of little "Neiler" riding a toboggan with Robertson Davies.

Maudie, I'm definitely going to borrow Stiff to read in line at the Fillmore today. And one for the road: Nothing fascinates me more than dreams and death.

Fanning the flames of my growing paranoia.
