i'm actually trying to make my christmas list right now, it's always so much harder than it seems. i don't think there's much i really need! so far i have:
1) Flight to Seattle (to visit a friend at college)
2) SNL Complete 1st Season (Release December 5)
3) Tsotsi (DVD)
That's it. this list has a high demand status from grandparents and aunts at this point, and i'm struggling.

Awesome, i'd love to see some mid-west tour dates, but he doesn't seem to tour much
seconded! i'd travel wherever in the midwest to see him, that'd be great

one of my favorite albums ever. i really don't think that album gets enough credit. have you heard about the new dvd? it sounds amazing, i can't figure out how to get it over here in america though.

Subtle - a new white

I havent heard anything by her. But judging by every review ive read of it (and the fact that you havent seemed to play anything else in the past month ) it certainly sounds interesting. Im normally put off by extremely long songs though - I know it sounds like a cop out but I do have quite a short attention span at times.
I may cue it up on my way to work in the morning.
though i'm a fan of long songs, the long ones on Ys are definately not typical "long songs". When I think of a long song, i think of a 3 minute song with lyrics and then maybe a jam/drone/sparse notes for another 7-8 minutes...but on Ys, she fills each song. With 16 minutes worth of lyrics, it's almost greater (in my opinion). you could always do Milk-Eyed Mender if the long stuff just doens't work for you!

I want to go to bed but I can't drag myself away!
hahah tru dat mike...well, see you in english after neither of us sleep tonight, maybe we can switch our globe trekker movie or whatever with the tweedy dvd? that'd be the best.
and also, many many thanks to wilco hq and tweedy for putting this up. and having it be awesome. i love the commentaries so far...glad to see tweedy notices the things we all love about wilco/tweedy audiences. anyways, great job, i'm on summerteeth, which is one of my favorites solo and in general.

i don't feel like tracing influences right now, but i'm just gonna come right out and say that i have a 6 ft. poster of him in my room. and i had a freaky dream about my other labyrinth poster last night. but yeah, hunky dory is hands down my favorite....one of my favorite of everything actually.

She played here in Sydney some months back and it was a wonderful show. As soon as she walked on stage my friend commented that she had lost weight. I couldn't really tell. I thought she was looking good and seemed to be in a bit of a playful mood with the audience. She was brilliant and her band was absolutely phenomenal.
Here's a more recent clip:
that's a great clip, i wish i could see her live. hopefully someday...she's all i listened to this summer

if i had to pick a least fave song it'd prolly be The Perfect Crime... i dunno what it is about that one, but i tend to skip it already. reminds me of Genesis haha
it's not awful, but it's not a great track either.
same here...but i know why, it's just because of how much of the song is filled with "theperfect" and there's nothing else too interesting about it. that's definately the skippage one for me. other than that, i love the album, and there are some really really strong tracks on it. crane wife 3 definately gets it off on a great start.
just ordered the vinyl online (for the poster... ), but samo, is there a way to get a sticker liek that? that's awesome.
