I'm doing this from work, sans guitar, so be patient, but as I remember it: starts in D. Then to G. Then back to D. Then to A, then A7 (hold the A7), then back to D. (repeat) then D to D7. Then G, then G:-0 D:-1 A:-2 E:-3 then G:-0 D:-2 (could be wrong about this, been awhile since I played it) A:-2 E:-3 then E, then Am, then: B:-1 G:-1 D:-2 A:-0 then Am7 then D/D7, then back and forth between G and Cm (I play a variation of this I'll have to tab later), to D, then back to start. let me know if that works. If not, I'll post the whole thing tonight when I can play it.
  2. I have fallen so in love with the solo Tweedy versions of "Summer Teeth" while sitting and playing along on my patio, etc., that it's hard for me to listen to the studio recording anymore.
  3. I'm trying to figure that out now. I'm going to have to enlist the help of some other alumni, as I can't remember the exact spelling. Phonetically it came out "Koz-loss-kee"
  4. nope, but that's frighteningly close to the last name of my favorite high school teacher...
  5. I think it is interesting that there are five potential answers to the following "question": "You know what the word 'effulgent' means and can use it in a sentence." My results (which bear almost no resemblance to my view of myself):
  6. you got it. It's drop d. the little run goes like so (this is from memory, so pls feel free to correct, those with guitars actually in front of you) B:-2-3-5-7-8-10-12-10 G:-0 (throughout) D:-2-4-5-7-9-11-12-11 A:-0 (throughout) if you need help with the basic chords let me know. the opening riff is him just keeping his index finger on the A, D, G and B strings at the 7th fret, and hammering on and off on the A string up to the 9th. If you need it actually tabbed out, I'll have to do it later, as tabbing is like watching paint dry for me and takes twice as long...
  7. I think both the ad and the Limbaugh comments were shameless.
  8. I can't believe that guy hates puppies so.
  9. anything by mariah carey scares the holy hell outta me...
  10. any man who can knock off a woman's ellipsis in such a manner is indeed worthy of respect.
  11. I refuse to acknowledge that title in that it is degrading to cats, whom I simply adore.
  12. I was prompted to start this thread when watching the "sunken treasure" dvd last night. When they get to "Not For The Season," Jeff basically looks over to Glenn and says something to the effect of "why don't you start it," at which point Glenn, like the flick of a switch, merges from his smiling, affable self, into a rhythm machine. It's almost eerie to see him jump into that mode, and once he's in it, there are no distractions. just zoned. I'm not saying he's the only drummer that can do such a thing, by any means. But his output, and the way I imagine he helped shape the tunes on YHF
  13. yes. and I think it's pretentious and misplaced to state that because wilco may cause that reaction in someone that they've never listened to music before. I've been exposed to many forms of music since I could hear, I tought myself to play the guitar and I listen to a fairly wide spectrum of music, relatively speaking...
  14. If I could have anyone in the world in my band, he would be the one. There's simply nothing he plays that I would want to change. I don't know how it gets better than that.
  15. "war on war" is so good it's just silly.
  16. has anyone else gotten to "airline to heaven" yet? good god....
  17. "in a future age" is just stunning...
  18. this is NOT helping with my Tweedy addiction.
  19. anyone have it up yet? mine seems to be doing some serious downloading, but no results yet...
  20. to those who have endorsed clapton for this moniker, what's the argument? I'm not saying he's not talented, but the greatest? tone, tone, tone, tone, tone, tone, tone, tone.... (tone)
