  1. It is comments like this that show just how hypocritical the right can be.

You would be the first to point the finger at the administration if an attack happened and nothing was done.

But I guess when you think everything PBO does is bad, I would expect any other type of comment.

Ok, let me see if I've got this right, you assume the right is hypocritical because you think I would be the first to point a finger if there happens to be an attack?

Oh, and I do not think everything Obama does is bad but go ahead and run with this.

  2. Aw shit. My apologies. That link was the first one I found that had the flyer in Spanish encouraging those here illegally to apply for food stamps. I was not aware of what that website encourages or believes. In no way do I support a race hating group. That was my mistake. The Washington Examiner link I posted has the flyer as well.

  3. Read it again.  There's nothing in there that says that immigrants are eligible, or are utilizing the system.  It says the USDA (that's the dept of agriculture) is advising undocumented workers to cheat the paper work to access SNAP.  They're doing that because they want to provide at risk kids with food and they know that most immigrants wouldn't even try, so they're hoping to encourage them, even though technically it's against the rules.

The ID laws are restrictive to several groups of people who don't have ID's.  Most states won't do it, or need to.  If you can't see how this is a political poll gambit, then you sir are wearing a very fashionable pair of rose colored glasses.

Yep. I keep reading it and every time it still says that illegal immigrants can, " receive financial assistance". Sounds pretty eligible. Do you know any illegal immigrants who receive food stamps or, as we call them in Texas, Lone Star Card? I do.

I like the idea of ID's to vote. Sorry we disagree. You're going to say it is restrictive to eligible voters and I think it would keep people who aren't citizens from being able to vote.

    B) I just bought those glasses btw.

  4. Check the SNAP website (that's the dept that runs food stamps in the U.S.).  They're not eligible.

But again, are you trying to convince us that illegal immigrants are bad for the U.S. (an argument that inevitably fails), or are we still trying to rationalize new restrictive voter laws to prevent a hypothetical immigrant from illegally voting in an election motivated by hypothetical "funding" a candidate has controversially made to be part of their platfrom (a new and weird, but interesting argument)?

Yes sir I understand SNAP. Check out their memo. http://washingtonexaminer.com/usda-to-mexico-illegal-immigrants-can-have-food-stamps/article/2528152?custom_click=rss

If by new restrictive laws you mean having an ID then yes I am for that.

  5. That's patently false.  An illegal immigrant is not eligible for food stamps.  The only kind of health care they get is the kind where you go to the emergency room and when you can't pay the send you bills and eventually to collections.  Otherwise many pay out-of-pocket for urgent care.

I work in a hospital. The amount of care given to illegal immigrants is far beyond "urgent care". After care is given bills are not paid....in or out of pocket. a fact.

I've been told that illegals can get food stamps. The Department of Agriculture seems to agree.http://www.amren.com/news/2013/04/usda-to-mexico-illegal-immigrants-can-have-food-stamps/

  6. Not to be condescending or rude but I believe it's naive to believe that these people are apolitical or that afraid of being deported. We've all voted and and I've never seen ICE agents at a polling station. Why wouldn't an illegal go vote for a president who endorses further funding of illegal aliens and their children? Hell they mingle in society as if they were citizens. I see it all the time. My cousin owns multiple restaurants and having family that farms, interacting with illegals are a common occurrence. My wife had an automobile accident with 2 illegal women. The police were called to do the report and when we asked if the ladies would have consequences for being here illegally the officer said its a low priority for the police department. One of my cousins employees got arested and was deported....he was back at his job in less than 3 weeks!

These are obviously things I've seen and caused me to think the way I do. I just find it difficult to believe that in the areas and neighborhoods that illegals live there isn't an organized movement AND successful voting block.

It's hard for me to swallow, "the more people that vote the better." when there are 11 million illegal potential voters. I do believe it's a wonderful right that makes this country different and great but it also should be treated as a precious right. (damn I'm rambling sorry)
