  1. i have one extra single available. section B orchestra, row L, seat 8. it looks like a close seat on pat's side, but the seat appears to be close to the end. will sell for $50. will meet at the show. cockrell11@yahoo.com thanks
  2. when did you pre-order? i paid for the priority as well and didn't get it today. grrrrr.....
  3. nice... i'll keep my hopes up for a friday afternoon surprise
  4. i was absolutely stunned to hear about this last night when i got back into town. this is just tragic. danny balis just came on the ticket and was talking about it. carter had been trying to quit smoking and was taking chantix, this brand new anti smoking drug that has a short track record for creating crazy, violent mood swings. they said he had been reserved and introverted since he started taking it, which i guess was not him. his girlfriend said he pretty much flipped out and became a completely different person the last couple hours before the shooting (after a few drinks at th
  5. i noticed this as well. the dvd versions also (naturally) have a lot more punch from glenn. i still wish glenn was a little more present in the mix, but that's a very minor complaint for a spectacular album.
  6. he likes tequila, apparently.
  7. i haven't heard you are my face, sky blue sky, hate it here, leave me, and the studio on & on. i like to barter with myself...
  8. not too bad... here In 1999, Wilco willingly abdicated their position as one of the leading acts in the alt-country movement to dive head-first into the challenging waters of experimental pop with their album Summerteeth, and moved even further away from their rootsy origins with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born, winning the group a new and enthusiastic audience along the way. So it might amuse a number of the band's earlier fans that in many respects Wilco's sixth studio album, Sky Blue Sky, sounds like the long-awaited follow-up to 1996's Being There
  9. just found this thread... i have to disagree with you earl re: the suns. i don't think they make it past the spurs. when it comes to playoff basketball, d'antoni's 7-man high-flying circus won't stand up. i think they'll put up a decent fight, but that kind of play won't beat the spurs. it *probably* wouldn't beat the mavs either, but the mavs can easily be sucked into playing their old run/gun style, giving the suns a fighting chance with dallas. as far as spurs/mavs, flip a coin. it would be a great series. det and miami will be great in the east. i think that'll be a coin flip a
  10. it's obviously going to be the nels-version of "monday". sheesh.
  11. not sure if they'll do the same thing, but their cd release here in dallas was really cool. they played for hours. they started with earlier stuff and worked their way forward. they also played the entire new album from front to back (including a couple extended versions i wish were on the album). oh, and they also had the guy who did art for the album painting while they played the new album. it was projected up on a couple screens... pretty cool. and to top it off, they closed the night with a covers set (which featured 10 or so dylan songs and others from led zep, pavement, etc). i
  12. yeah, i like 'em. i live in dallas, so i've been able to see them quite a bit. did you just find out about them? which albums?
  13. ahh, very cool. he's a great musician. i'm anxious to hear where sorta will go with him on board. the new songs i've heard (since he's joined) are really good.
  14. actually doni does most of the drumming on the new album (or so i've read). but there's only one jason song on the album. factor that in with the lack of guitars, and i can' figure out what in the hell jason's doing.
  15. stephen malkmus built to spill the shins trail of dead mogwai sonic youth sorta (somewhat wilco-influenced local... songs here)
  16. one of their new ones is here (wasted state of mind) it's insane.
  17. the lady and i will be attending as well. i've seen them 3 times. i haven't been following the setlists, so i'm anxious to see what they'll play... hopefully they'll play some new songs... what row are you guys on? i've never actually been in will rogers before...
  18. anyone here a fan? i've heard a few of the new songs, two of which i enjoyed. i'm not sure how it will sound overall. apparently they don't like guitars anymore. i'm hopeful of the new album, but i not holding my breath or anything. anyone pay attention to these guys?
  19. very true. there's a sports station here in dallas called the ticket, and the afternoon show's return music includes wilco, the shins, flaming lips, built to spill, pearl jam, etc. as you may suspect, they are the complete opposite of cornball.
