  1. i dont think 'depressing' really describes any of these songs (except maybe the Lonely 1) . Reservation, On and On and On and In a Future Age all have rreally hopefull messages in my opinion

Maybe lyrically but if you listen to the atmosphere (or vibe, feeling, whatever you want to call it) of the song, they're pretty sad songs.

  2. I like Halloween Head, I think the rhythm guitars sound fucking massive and ballsy. The melody is catchy. The lyrics aren't anything off Blonde on Blonde but they're not bad, which is alright cause the song isn't really about the lyrics. And Ryan's vocal performance is really good. Especially when he yells out "what the fucks with me God??" near the end.

  3. How bout that homeless guy on Granville Street who told me his guitar case was the most expensive guitar case in the entire city? Surely that's more of a Wonder then a canoe.

    EDIT: Or Luongo.

EDIT 2: Actually, how about all the red pine trees, that the federal government doesn't seem to care about, in the interior of BC (and Alberta now). Surely an entire province with red trees is a Wonder.

  4. ps that is true, but if you were to take all the bands that have took something from the beatles or were influenced by them there wouldn't be a whole lot of bands left...

Yes, I am not denying that, but Elliott Smith was very influenced by The Beatles, especially in the chords he played. I'm not saying that any particular Elliott Smith songs sound like any particular Beatle songs, all I'm saying is that, if you're going to say the chords in Please Be Patient With Me are Elliott Smithesque then you have to acknowledge that the chords Elliott Smith played are very Beatleesque.

Do you play many Elliott Smith song son guitar? They aren't the same things, trust me.

I have no clue what you just said.
