i heard it at the solo acoustic Jeff Tweedy show, but never the full Wilco playing it. And in the live recordings I've heard it's awesome. so... yeah, that's why I requested it. fingers crossed. one more day!

cool! I'm going to this show, and I requested Remember the Mountain Bed. After I submitted, it gave me the list, but that song was nowhere on the list. I'm hopeful now that I see it on the list (and at the top!). In my request comment, I also added "and please play Broken Arrow too!" Looking at that list I'd love it if they played How to Fight Loneliness. I've seen Wilco 4 or 5 times now, so I've heard most of the "regulars" by now. and the reason I say 4 or 5 is because I am not sure how to count it. in 2005 I saw Jeff Tweedy solo acoustic in 2006 I saw Wilco - full concert in 20

wow that sounds awesome - i wouldn't be surprised if one day Neil Young did a live version of this song with Wilco as his backing band.

FINALLY (part of) a recording of Wilco's version of Broken Arrow... there's a video at this link: http://purplewordsonagreybackground.blogspot.com/ the video starts with about 20 seconds of Wilco's song (audio only - they're showing other stuff during this part). it's the first video of the two on that link. or here's the direct youtube link: i really hope they play it on this tour!! i'm seeing them next monday in Edmonton!

So I was looking at the jumble in the newspaper the other day, and found that the cartoon in the Jumble had a kid wearing a WILCO shirt. I went online and found it through jumble.com, so i took a screen grab and put it up here: http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/cos...in/jumble-1.jpg

they DO allow mp3s.... that is, most shows i've seen up there have flacs AND mp3s. i think maybe they don't allow shows that are mp3 sourced and only available in mp3, but mp3s definitely DO go up there.

nah, we rented. unlimited milelage. they said "you can drive it till the wheels fall off", and so, we did (just about).

no hidden path was the highlight of the electric set. really long. the solos were incredible. it sounded WAY better than the album version, which i already loved. it comes across pretty well on the Spokane recording, although somehow live the vocals sounded balanced better than it seems on the recording, but you can still get an idea. the band for the electric set was pretty tight. tigher than the modern day crazy horse. i felt like i was hearing/seeing the crazy horse of 1970ish. especially when they did EKTIN, Bad Fog of Lonliness, and Winterlong.

wow. i went to the spokane show. wow. wow. sorry. that was just... wow. i can't believe how lucky i am to have been to that show. mellow my mind on the banjo, no one seems to know, a man needs a maid.. it's like the '76 tour all over again, except now i'm alive to experience it... i wasn't born until '82, so.... yes. wow. what a concert. ambulance blues. sad movies. everything. BETTER than the '76 setlists actually. and that's just the acoustic set. i wrote a long review on the rust list. this spokane show was the only one i could make, due to my mon-fri work schedule. but i

wow i love this album. so good. beautiful bluebird = sail away and out on the weekend - sounds just as GOOD too!!! nice work on the dobro (I think) by Ben Keith. boxcar = i love banjo, this is really nice, especially the girl/train whistle "ooohs".. they got that lonesome whistle chord just right! might turn into my favourite eventually. OP = yup. shining light = the way the guitar is strummed in this... the instrumentation, just perfect. sounds like a 50's song, and they pull it off just right. the believer = modern day "cripple creek ferry". it's so cool how carefree the "i

4 new songs up on youtube: this album's gonna be awesome!!

update: i messed up the upload and had to add most of the soundcheck pictures last... well, i don't know how to reorganize on photobucket, so they are a bit out of order, chronologically. i think you see most of the calgary soundcheck first, then the edmonton concert, then the calgary concert, and then a couple more calgary soundcheck pictures.
-
so here are all the pictures i took from the wilco concerts this past weekend. i also won a contest which allowed me to attend the soundcheck in calgary, so i have some pictures from those. a lot of the pictures are a bit blurry, but there are some good ones too. i put everything up (good and bad) on my photobucket page. they are in opposite to chronological order. on the road between calgary and edmonton we saw richard swift in his van, so you'll see two pictures of him/his van. we were stopped at a light next to him in calgary, and i beeped the horn and showed him our tickets (he was

through megatunes. they've been announcing it on ckua all last week.

this is all too good to be true for me... i'm going to both those concerts, AND i even won tickets to the soundcheck in calgary!!!!
-
So I won tickets to the calgary show after already buying some, so i'll be selling 2. they were $45 each, so now i'll make it $45 for the TWO of them, to make it like whoever is buying them is also winning with me! well anyway, i don't know what seats i'll get for the ones i won, so i'd like to keep the better ones. the ones i already bought are on the first balcony terrace row B. so if the ones i won are better than that, then these are the ones you'll be buying. if they're worse, you'll get those ones... email cosplusisin@yahoo.co.uk or PM me. thanks.

ok, i sincerely apologize if this is not the place to do this, but my band, The Martingales, are playing a show the same night as the Wilco show in Edmonton. We're playing last, so we're going to start AFTER the Wilco concert finishes... I'm actually going to go to the Wilco show and then rush over to my own gig. It's at the Velvet Underground on 100 ave and 102 st (downstairs from the Starlite Room). We're going to be on at around 11 or a bit later. The cover is $10. www.myspace.com/martingalesband ok thanks. and i'm really sorry if this is annoying/spammy to anyone.

i got chicken pox for the first time when i was 18. it lasted about 3-4 days. it was painful, but didn't last too long. i hope Nels feels better real soon.

i bought edmonton tickets on the presale and got them a while ago. i bought my calgary tickets through ticketmaster and got them a while ago. so i don't have any info about calgary presale tickets, but thought i might add this info anyway.
-
I've got 3 tickets for the Edmonton show in row BBB (second row from the stage), right in the middle, seats 36-38. I got them from the presale, and they ended up costing me $150 CAD and some cents when all was said and done, so that's how much I'm selling them for.. that is - $50 each. I would be going, but it turns out my band has been offered a gig on the same night. I'm a bit torn, but I've got to play. And I don't feel TOO bad, because I'm going down to Calgary the night before (though my seats are not nearly as good). But yeah.. if you're interested in these great seats, PM or e

they have a detailed seating map on the jubilee website: http://www.jubileeauditorium.com/northern/...NAJAAug2005.pdf seat 30 is the aisle seat, but that's still really good!
-
oh by the way, i got tickets for edmonton, not calgary (the venues are identical though, i think). the jubilee sites are down right now, though.. not sure why.
