I thought you were leaving already.

also, you'd think they'd at least throw you a bone and not make you pay the 80 cents to sit in line for an hour.....

the chick with cerebral palsy that made those assenine jokes in her stand up routine......"I'm not handicapped! I'm handicapable!"

The toll up near O'Hare is deadly.......avoid at all costs! We were on our way back from my Old Town School thing last night around 11 and the Eisenhower was being crunched down to 2 lanes.....it was awful. Standstill traffic at 11pm.....oy. I wish I could have seen this show. I am jealous.

well....my fiddle performance/recital thing is over.....I was so nervous my hands were shaking, which isn't good for playing the fiddle. The bow kept bouncing off of the strings.....oh yeah, and I totally messed up on one of the songs. I could play these songs in my sleep, I practice so much. Hopefully, I will do better next time.

Jon Papelbon is the best baseball thread ever

I honestly have more of a personal investment in the Sox at this point, just because we watch them every day. After that whole terrible Cubs/Cards experience at Wrigley, I have really been turned off the rivalry. And now that I don't have to live relatively near Wrigley and pass it everyday to and from work, I think about the Cubs less and less which is delightful. And hey, if the sweeps make your year - awesome. I was pretty down about it, but got over it relatively quickly. I actually think I was more upset seeing the Cardinals get trounced by the Sox. I was really hoping for a fun, -

well......so the Cubs swept the Cards, twice. Yeah that sucks.....but my pain is eased by the fact the Sox won the World Series.......oh yeah and that the Cards were in the NLCS last year and might make the playoffs again (though I am not holding my breath) I am also not holding my breath to see the Sox in the playoffs. *shrug* Don't lose heart - Dusty thinks that you are going to get the Wild Card. -
I am divorced, though recently remarried. I left my first husband because he was not a healthy person to be with (abuse, drugs, etc).....so likely a very different tale from yours. As hard as it was to leave him at the time, I knew it was for the best. I was practically alone with my daughter in the town I was in and took a long time to get on my feet. However, I used that time to really get to know myself better. I spent a lot of time outdoors with my daughter and we took long nature walks and got to know tha countryside near where we lived. We went on small adventures and out of the way p

that's like the time me and my best friend wanted to TP the neighbors, but weren't allowed to go outside (we were like 9) and so we TPed his family room.......yeah, that was a good idea.

I guess I fit in with that stereotype....fat Sox fan thanks for pointing it out. What, is this pick on the fatties day?? -- and that tattoo is freakin awful. -
in our complex we are in pretty close quarters with our neighbors - so I don't want to make any enemies. When the apartment manager came by to talk to me, I almost laughed.....thinking, "man I thought that was so funny when I was a kid!" When I mentioned having empathy for the kids, knowing how great the temptation can be, she gave me this really odd, confused, pissed look. oops.

man - our cupboards are pretty bare and I can't go to the store til Graham gets home since we only have one car.......I am craving a salad.

well he and his friends looked like someone who I would expect to see at Wrigley......though one of them had on a Yankees hat. though he wasn't as ridiculous as this guy.....the ultimate duder..... -
yeah, the way I figure....most kids do it at some point. I didn't wanna be too harsh, but I couldn't let her get away with it entirely. So, I just said she needed a break from her friends for a day or two. I was a little po'ed that she did it at 9:30 at night. Graham and I had run out for a coffee and she was just hanging with her pals in the courtyard. You never know what kind of reaction you might elicit from someone, especially at night.
-
yeah, it is harsh. In the mom's defense, she does work for the apartment company and her kid bothering neighbors could put her job at risk I would bet. So, I understand her reaction and fear. I know the apartment manager and I have seen how she talks to Maria (Em's friend's mom) and I would put money on it that she was not as nice to Maria as she was to us when informing her of her child's wrongdoings....... Still, I don't think it's fair. I asked Em if she would like me to talk to the mom, maybe over the weekend. But, Em doesn't want me to at this point. *sigh* ding dong ditch = ringin

we watched start to finish......it was a roller coaster. And I was embarassed by the "duder" Sox fans behind home plate to the right who kept making "hang loose" type signs and waving at the camera on their cell phones....ack.
