From the title I knew I shouldn't have opened this post. but seriously, Open letter to Jeff Tweedy: "This is a longshot, but you should bring back "Wherever" and have Nels do a "MoB"-ish freakout on the instrumental section. Oh,and whatever the first guy said "

I've seen Shot in the Arm and the I'm the Man who Loves You during baseball games

Let's all just not forget that this a great place to discuss Wilco and share opinions, so don't put anyone down for it.
Exactly, I thank the new album for getting me excited again. The webcasts were amazing thank you!!!!!!

the more I question people's true fandom.
I love everything you say except for this. I love the new album alot. It's my favorite record since last Loose Fur and Sonic Youth but we don't have to rip each other about fandom. This is music. Baseball that's another story

Buy it. If you want to pay two dollars let me know I'll surely take your extra dollar.

Same info but funnier. Wish he was coming closer to me. Probably try to do Langerado.

Thank you. Definitely still available. I think the website said it's up for a week after its airing. Can anyone put these tracks into mp3's? "Crazy" is both funny, entertaining, and smart. Hearing Wayne Coyne talk, he reminds me of Frank Zappa.
Thanks in advance if anyone can do mp3's. Will trade something else that's not available for purchase.

IT's great to see so many fans of "The Band" Terrific band they were, truly fantastic, and if Wilco is to be "the band" of This Generation, they certainly fill those shoes, matter of fact I don't know if "the Bands" shoes can really sustain the Might of Wilco anymore...I Just don't think they can

It's hard to pick a favourite Pavement record. For me Slanted and Enchanted and Wowee Zowee are the best two. Matador has done a great job with the reissues. Disc 2 of the Slanted and Enchanted reissue is unbelievable. Watery (Domestic) EP is perfect all the way through; Greenlander is one of their best tracks; and the live show on that disc is unbelievable. Hearing them live is outstanding. It always sounds like none of them individually really know what they're doing but something about them being on the same stage creates a transcendent group sound. They remind me of African or Indian music in that way. Or maybe I've smoked too much grass in my days.
P.S. if anyone still needs the live show send a PM

Not the detail you want probably but the chords sound like Dmaj7 and Gmaj7(#11)
In the solo Nels seems to focus on 7ths and 9ths: E, C#, F#, A
Somewhere to start?

my only complaint is the song list isn't as great as it could be. there are quite a few songs that really deserve to be on there. like "remember the mountain bed" for sure.
I haven't seen it yet, but how was that song not included? Please tell me Lost Love is on there. Another question, any inclusion of Glenn solo material or is this just a Jeff love fest?

Which brings up a good point: Should I actually pay attention to music theory or just keep going by ear which is what I have been doing?
Music theory isnt really importnat in and of itself. I've played with a lot of people who play more with their brains and eyes rather than their ears. And while nerdiness is alright in music everyone(?) falls in love with music first because of what it sounds like.
Music theory is important when playing and communicating with other people and in the context of history. It is a lot more important in the context of jazz. The way something is written is important becuase of how it got that way over time. Certain assumptions are built into the language which all the musicians should be keyed into. For instance, over an Ab7 chord, a #11, a b5 and a #4 all refer to the note D natural. Yet, the key and scale which most musicians would improvise in would be different depending on which one you chose. But it's something which people still argue about and it will never be decided upon. The only time that a musical choice is "right" or "correct" is when it sounds good.
So just keep going by ear but any theory you can pick up will help and give you shortcuts in learning.

But this song is in F Major but they mess around with G# (#2nd) and Eb (#6th) alot during the song.
I hate to be nitpicky, but this sentence should never be repeated. There are many reasons why one of which being that musicians should be able to communicate and understand each other. In this case G# should be referred to as Ab because F is a flat key and because the note functions as a flat third not a sharp second. And Eb is a flat seventh not a sharp sixth. I don't mean to be a dick. It's just that I learned a lot of stuff about music from the internet and I would hate for someone who is just learning to be misinformed and confused.

Is this the instrumental that has lyrics on the engineer demos? Or is that #2? I lost my copy of the old ones and only have the engineer demos now.
Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question.

No problem. I'll take a listen to the Bsus2, Bm part and see what I can come up with, but from what I can remember it was a little difficult to transcribe because I had a hard time picking out what was the lick and what was the other guitar behind it. Also, I'm not positive but I think it changes around slightly each time. At that point, laziness took over. Warm, comforting laziness.
Yeah, I played around with the capo in a couple of different positions, 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 5th fret just made everything else easier to play. I could be completely wrong as I've never seen them play this song live, but, at the very least, it sounds okay.
Cheers
Yeah, I tried to get the Bmin part down today and it's right when the band comes in. The piano and other guitar make it uninteligible, at least on the version I have.
-
anyone have any idea how to play it?
thanks in advance
Don't get excited. I don't have guitar with me but it's starts out something like:
C G C G Bb F Bb F
If this is wrong just switch it like Bb F Bb F C G C G
This has probably been beaten to death but im curious
