  1. Just finished:

So This is Love Lollipop and Other Stories by Gilbert Reid

it was pretty good. I liked almost all of the stories contained within, which is more than I can say for a lot of story collections.

    on deck:

Family and Other Accidents by Shari Goldhagen

  2. not quite as bad as ones where there is severe bodily harm so I hope everyone is ok

Yes, everyone is okay and I am extremely thankful for that.

    What happened?

On the way home from a welcome-home dinner for a friend, I was coming up to a stop light and when braking, my brakes locked(no ABS) and I just slid on the wet pavement into the back of a taxi. The driver spoke broken english, but he was okay aside from some minor whiplash. My car was filled with three people that I hold very close to my heart and I couldn't be happier that no one is injured, but I feel pretty awful about the whole thing. The taxi itself is missing some paint and my car needs a new bumper and hood.

Thanks for checking in. Hope everyone has a lovely week as I will not be around much due to bandcamp(call me a band nerd if you must, but this is my eighth and final year and I'm pretty excited about it!)

gershon: well I don't want to share you. I want you all to my self. Mine, mine, mine.

spawn: well you have to share me with mommy

gershon: don't wanna. she can make another baby

spawn: well she can't do that by herself

gershon: oh? how's that work anyway? why can't she?

spawn: I have no idea, dude! I'm only 8 years old

    gershon: oh, good.

    :lol

    thanks. This made my weekend.

  4. My mom-in-law had that going on and then she was told that it was against code when she had her deck rebuilt. Besides, w/ my old house...that sounds like a recipe for EXPLOSIVO!!!

Burger question: Catsup, Ketchup or Heinz 57? I also throw some tabasco and pepper jack on there.

I recommend Jack Daniel's Barbeque sauce, any flavor...

  5. Who's dat?

    Imogen Heap, yes.

She's released two solo albums and sang for the band Frou Frou(the other half of Frou Frou was producer Guy Sigsworth, the guy in the back of the second picture).

  6. I'll get the new version then cheers. Last night I did what I mentioned earlier in the thread and deleted my entire library and ipod. Then re-imported from my external drive where I keep all of my music.

It took bloody ages to copy and I was hoping for a result, but according to my ipod I there are still 26 songs missing.

Wow, you really are "anal" :P

  7. Since AGIB is two years old, I guess that means I started listening to Wilco two years ago. The first song I ever heard by them was ALTWYS. I was instantly enamoured with everything Wilco. I downloaded and eventually bought everything I could get my hands on. I've seen the band twice(one such occassion meant a ten hour car ride there, no hotel and a ten hour car ride back the same day.... :stunned ) and Jeff solo once. Hummingbird and Theologians have become favorites, but ALTWYS, I think will always rank number one in my book. I really enjoy all of their music and can't wait for a new album/new opportunites to see them live....I sure hope that this isn't the tail end of their time together....

It isn't until recently that I have begun to hear and understand Jeff's lyrics, but that's just because of the way I listen to music. The overall music is what I hear first and once I grasp that completely, the words start to come to the front and I hear those seperately. I think this is why I like Wilco so much. Jeff's voice quality, the actual sound of his voice, fits so well with the rest of the music. It's soothing to hear such a thing as opposed to a singer who "competes" with their voice against the music. As the band's sound has matured, Jeff's voice quality and confidence have increased as well. I like hearing the growth from album to album and I am extremely anxious to hear where the next one takes them.
