that's one of the worst typos i've seen in all my 17 years.
typing typos is fun. I always look at the keyboard so I don't screw things up too often, but mistakes happen...
I never did learn proper punctuation skils, so I often have problems with that.

drivers who don't pay attention. As a pedestrian, cyclist and driver, this is annoying. That and when people don't go the speed limit. I don't care if they go over, just please at least go the number it says on the sign.

"In 1701, the British Admirality found Captain William Kidd guilty of murder and piracy. As was the custom at executions, spectators offered Kidd rum until he was blind drunk. Kidd was hanged, but his weight snapped the rope. He was promptly sent up to the gallows again and hanged a second time. After he expired, his body was dipped in tar, then placed in a steel cage and suspended over the Thames, where it remained for several years."(as a warning to would-be pirates)
this I did not know

My friends and I drove ten hours each way to see this show(without a hotel stay during the night) and I seriously think that you guys are concentrating too much on the bad. Was it short for a Wilco show? Yes. The setlist? A few disappointments in what they didn't play, but still a good one. The crowd? Been with better, been with worse. The opening act? I thought they were pretty awful and that their influences were way too obvious, but that's just my opinion and I wasn't there to see French Toast. I was there to see fucking WILCO. And they fucking rocked. I never imagined that much energy being visible from them. But it was sweet. I would say that this was one of the best shows I've been to. But maybe that's the sleep deprivation talking...I don't know. I had a great time. Jeff's dance (half running man/half jerk) was sweet. Nels was on fire. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I hope the rest of you had at least an okay time.
Thanks to LCH for the ticket hook-up, hope you have fun tonight in Charlottesville.
PS Any tapers? I'd like to have this show if for nothing else, Nels guitar solos and the crowd interaction on Kingpin.

Pop tart
What's our mission
Do we know
But never listen
For too long
They held me under
But I hear
It's almost over
In Detroit
On a Memphis train
Like you said it's
Down in the heat and the summer rain of
The automatic gauze of your memories
Down in the sleep at the airplane races
Try to hold on
To this heart
A little bit longer
Try to hold on
To this love aloud
Try to hold on
For this heart's
A little bit colder
Try to hold on
To this love
Paperback scrawl your hidden poems
Written around the dried out flowers
Here we are still trading places
To try to hold on
Pop tart
Can you envision
A free world
Of clear division
For too long
They held us under
But I know
We're getting over
In Detroit
With the Nashville tears
Like you said it's
Down in the heat with the broken numbers
Down in the gaze of solemnity
Down in the way you've held together
To try to hold on
To this heart
A little bit closer
Try to hold on
To this love aloud
Try to hold on
For this heart's
A little bit older
Try to hold on
To this love aloud
And we are still alive
Try to hold on
And we have survived
Try to hold on
And no one should deny
We tried to hold onto the pulse of the feedback current
Into the flow of encrypted movement
Slapback kills the ancient remnants
That try to hold on
Try to hold on
To this heart alive
Try to hold on
To this love aloud
Try to hold on
And we are still alive
Try to hold on
And we have survived
Try to hold on
Pop tart
You never listen
Skinned knees
Try to hold on
Stop start
What's our mission
Skinned knees
Try to hold on

no worries
Now figure out those lyrics than no one can understand!
...Now faith and trust's the strongest part of us
I don't care but you must....
what do you guys think?
and where I said "you talk to me tonight," I think it's "you tuck me in at night", as stated in the earlier thread.

So here it is early morning and I am procrastinating and avoiding a paper....so I decided to give my best shot to the lyrics to this "new song" that the band played at Chapel Hill recently, not hard, but maybe someone could come up with the chords.....enjoy!
The Thanks I Get
Is that the thanks I get
for lovin you
Is that the thanks I get
for tellin you the truth
You say you wanna know
Where I go when I go
You say you wanna communicate
But you don't hear a word I say
Is that the thanks I get
for lovin you
Now I'm tired of the looks you give me
when I get home late
Getting tired of how you foget
all the lovin things I say
I treat you right
I hold you tight
Now everytime I go out and play
why you think I'm leavin?
Is that the thanks I get
for lovin you
Now babe (your trust is strong as _______?)
That's okay but you must
believe in our love, ohhhhhhhhhhh
We can make it better(4x)
let's pull ourselves together
and start it again.
I hold you tight
You (talk to me tonight?)
awwwwwwwwwww, I don't ever wanna fight again
I think we're both crazy.
But that's the thanks we get
for fallin in love
alright
We can make it better(8x)
let's pull oursleves together
and start it again.

Just wondering if anyone could help me out with the Jeff solo versions of Hummingbird and Summerteeth(more specifically as they appears on the Collected Jeff Tweedy Disc 1). Any help would be great. Thanks.

I read these over the summer:

The summer ones were great and Never Let ME Go is alright, kind of boring.
ipod / itunes related question.

The newest version of itunes has an option to "show all duplicate songs." this option will show duplicate songs even if they are on different albums-it's anything with the same song title. It's in the "Edit" menu, but I use itunes with windows....maybe you've got 40ish duplicates and your ipod was smart enough not to pick them up......
If you've moved any of the songs on your computer, that will cause the (!) due to itunes not being able to find the song in its "proper" location. This is similar to the ghost song referred to earlier.
