Um, so I just ordered it and they gave me a download code right away. It's 1:47 EST and I have 6:30 min left before it's here....

It looks like the old Ludwig Vistalite (sp?) drum kits. How rad is that bass drum head with the SBS cover!!??! Is Glenn "sponsored" by Sonor?
Those are the most famous acrylic drums and are what Bonham played. And yes, he is sponsored by Sonor(as well as probably a cymbal company and a stick and/or mallet company).

Glenn has been using this clear kit recently, not sure if it's replacing the green kit:

Wow, the Sonor website says nothing about acrylic shells, so that could be a custom kit from them or a prototype he's testing for them....or he could have just put the Sonor logo on them
P.S. John Bonham was fond of acrylic drums

This gives a pretty good explanation, though I know nothing about tabbing it out...If you're wondering about the funky names for all the modes, they correspond with the ancient Greek tribes that invented them. Each tribe had one mode(scale) that they called their own and would have sounded "normal" to their ears, much like major scales sound "normal" to our western ears.

whole different sound...
This is the overall goal. Adding another timbre to the collection. Increasing the possibilities, so on and so forth. I've not really ever associated it with any one style of music(especially not jazz), I've always seen it as a personal choice of the player. A lot of times, it is a smaller snare drum(soprano or piccolo). Also in the pictures in the first post, I don't think the first one actually has a second snare drum, those just look like additional toms to me. But, in the other two pictures, the snare drum that would be in front of the player is wood and matches the rest of the kit, that is, it was made for that drum kit. In both cases(though not always the case) the second snare drum is a steel shell. That is a really different sound(even if the snare drums are the same size). I'll stop now.

I just like to know if the Sonor designer series in green sparkle finish with brilliant champagne band has been produced just for Glen or if it's available in some drum stores.
As with most of the drum set companies, if those exact sizes aren't available as a shell pack, I'd imagine you could order those specific sizes from Sonor. And, if that's a custom wrap, then you could have a custom wrap done to match it. I've not seen that specific kit in any store/catalog. Now that I think about it, I've not seen many Sonor kits period.

Bump(because this is happening soon!)
and
Does anyone know if this venue has a curfew?I was at the venue last night for a show(The Blow) and things were shut down shortly after 11, maybe 11:15ish was when everything was over...that's usually the ending time for shows around here. It's not too often that concerts go past 11 or 11:30.
-
Hoooooray!!!! Party down like it's 1869? At any rate, Happy Burfday!

A few minutes late, but Happy Burfday!@#!!!@$

Wow, just wow. It was a great night starting at Giordano's(with the J4's and isadorah) and ending at Elephant and Castle or whatever that place was(with everyone!). I can't think of a better way to start off a week in Chicago. Thanks Wilco and thanks to you VC folks(and friends) who could hang out last night. Phenomenal.
Oh and Edie, so glad you made it in time!

Depends on where they lived before. There's certainly plenty to do, and its an easy drive to Columbus or Indianapolis. There are a lot of disc golf courses in the area. That's all I got(it's been a few years since I spent a substantial amount of time in that area).

of course, some (ok maybe all) of these have already leaked, but...
go! team - proof of youth
kevin drew - spirit if...
stars - in our bedroom after the war
The first two there, have definitely leaked and are pretty good(I think I've only listened to each once). I love the Stars album, but I thought it was already released?
EDIT: And the Sigur Ros releases!!!!! November 6.Have you seen the trailer for the DVD? It looks absolutely incredible. I am really excited to hear/see new material from them.

Now that we've been through the presale(s) and tickets have gone on sale to the general public, can we turn this into a "roll call" thread?
I'll be there!

So far, and I think I counted correctly, only one man has answered Miss Chris' post regarding the frequency unprotected sex in which they have knowingly indulged. I am keen to hear this.
