I've given the ep a few listens and i like it espcially songs 3 &4.
I just got my hands on the full album last night first time throughit sounds promising.
I wish the singer did not sound so much like jim james but the music is good.

Interesting i remember before Are you Passionate came out the buzz was the new album's name would be toast. I also know that the only song that neil did with crazy horse that ended up on his next album was Goin Home (the only tolerable song on that album to me).
I wonder if this is real?

thta is pretty awesome i am a big dinosaur jr fan i'm a little to far away to see the show though
-
Damn that would have been really cool to see.

I'll be seeing them at Bonnaroo. Should I see them 2 days before that too?
Yep.
Great thing about pearl jam is they vary their sets from night to night a lot. I'm sure they'll trot out the hit parade at bonnaroo because it is a festival but you may get more hidden nuggets by going to one of their regular shows.
i'm going to try to get tickets to the columbia show if i can.

I heard impossible germany at Golden Corral today.
Second time i've heard it there. Actually i have not been there in months and the last time i went they played it too.

So Nel's Guitar playing on Handshake Drugs last night was amazing

I got pit seats yesterday for the Atlanta show
What a fucked up way to put your tickets on sale nto telling anyone when they go on. I was at work refreshing as often as possible and got lucky i was not on a call when it happened.
The venue in atlanta is terrible and it is in the GHETTO lol but hey it was either that or play at a more expensive venue and tickets would cost more so i'm okay with it.
Im thinking of double dipping and picking up lawn seats for the Friday Charlotte show.
-
I heard either way as i was walking into a Golden Carrol to eat. I was amazed GC would play a wilco tune.

R.E.M.

i'd hope you've got a healthy collection of Built To Spill?
This was my first thought too.
Perhaps some Dinosaur Jr too?
Maybe a little pearl jam? PJ & MMJ have a similar classic rock sound to me.

For those who have seen this tour: at what time does Neil take the stage? And is Peggy doing an opening set?
Peggi is doing an opening set. Not sure what time neil comes on i have not seen him on this tour.

I only own 31 of these albums.... my indie cred is gone

I love pearl jam. Probably my favorite band so i got the soundtrack before i had a chance to see the movie. the songs on their own to me were just okay. I saw the movie over the weekend and they work very well in the movie.
I actually like the songs more now that i've seen the movie.

wow. i went to the spokane show. wow. wow. sorry. that was just... wow. i can't believe how lucky i am to have been to that show. mellow my mind on the banjo, no one seems to know, a man needs a maid.. it's like the '76 tour all over again, except now i'm alive to experience it... i wasn't born until '82, so.... yes. wow. what a concert. ambulance blues. sad movies. everything. BETTER than the '76 setlists actually. and that's just the acoustic set. i wrote a long review on the rust list. this spokane show was the only one i could make, due to my mon-fri work schedule. but i wish i could go to more. it was amazing. i live in edmonton. the drive was 1000 miles each way. that is no exaggeration. we resest the odometer in edmonton, drove it all the way to spokane and back in one weekend, and when we pulled into the driveway in edmonton on sunday night, it said 2000.5. about 16 hrs each way. we *did* take the long way to stay on a divided highway over those mountains.. played it safe. the concert was perfect. it was more than worth it. not to mention the scenery in montana!!!
That is awesome. How was no Hidden Path Live?

those pictures are hilarous. Thanks for sharing.
How is the ep? Is it worth checking out?

Neil's Recent Setlist
God I can't imagine what would happen to my mind if i heard him start strumming Ambulance Blues Live. I'd probably miss the rest of the show by going into shock.
I just went down and picked up the new album. I'm stuck at work and can't listen to it so that sucks. But i did hear the first 3 minutes of Ordinary People for the first time. It sounds good. I'm happy to finally have a good version of this song. My live version the sound quality was not the best. My expectations for this album are not much so i'm excited to check it out and maybe neil will surprise me.

i love this album and this band.
J Mascis melts my face every time.

Here's a review:
Interesting he compares that one song to being as good as change your mind, love & only love, and Im the ocean.
Those are three bad ass songs. I hope it lives up to the hype now.
-
The first set of songs is from the yet to be released Chrome Dreams II that is coming out in October.
the second set of songs is the orginal Chrome Dreams that never was realeased but was recorded back in the 70's.

Great track but the keys kill it. The horns are a bit much at times but, this could have been one of his best releases. If he does this live I guarentee its one of the best things he's done.
I have only heard the live version from one of the 88 shows and i can tell you i have always thought of it as one of neil's best songs.
I'm disapointed it has not come across well on the album although i still have not heard it yet i will have to change that tongiht.

Well not the best all time but there are some bands out there making very good music currenttly like:
Mastodon
Baroness
Opeth
High On Fire
Probably my four fav current bands in that genre who's prime has not passed them by.
