  1. No doubt that Beyond is their best, IMO.

I was also at the Abbey Pub show on Saturday. That opener was extremely annoying. Ya know, you think when you show up at a venue at 11:30 you miss all that shit.

Anyway, the Dinosaur Jr show was okay. I remember being a lot more impressed when I saw them 1- (?) years ago, but I suppose my standards are a lot higher now too. I know J likes to play loud, but in a place like the Abbey it was unnecessarily loud, and I like it loud. He sure can rip though :thumbup

I have a funny story abuot J playing loud. I saw him at the 40 watt in athens when he was touring with Dave Skools as his bass player. I was right up in front standing right in front of J he was like 1 foot from me and after the first couple songs this guy yells up to him J we can't hear the vocals. He replies back "it's okay i can't hear them either" and just smiles and kicks into another jam.

It was very loud and most people there new the words and were singing along anyway. Great show. :thumbup

  2. Sarah you'd enjoy seeing Cracker... they are great live. I've seen them as a band, a couple solo shows and joining in other bands... I've yet to see Camper Van Beethoven, but I hope to get the dvd of the 1st annual camp out... I love the song "eurotrash girl"... the medley is just kick a** :rock

my most favorite by them... Go and have a good time girl :cheekkiss

I saw camper van Beethoven open for modest mouse a few years ago. A very cool show

  3. I just watched their new DVD last night "Live in the Middle East" and i'm so excited. I see them two days after i see Wilco :dancing

J Mascis is a freak with his guitar. I've seen Dinosaur jr once before and J solo twice before so i'm really excited to see the new songs.

  4. Well the thanks I get are very lovely indeed.... :cheekkiss

One of our local radio stations this week, has been giving away a pair of tickets to see Wilco in the ATL...

You have to answer a question right and be the 11th caller...

As luck would have it I call and she says "your caller 6, try again"... :ohwell

So I try again, it rings and rings. That's better than a busy signal tho...

Then she answers and said do you know the answer? :unsure

    Guess what the question was...

What car commercial is playing Wilco songs?

So thank you Wilco and VW, I won a pair of tickets... :worship

    oh and daveFM (formally Z93)

    Life is Good :stunned

That is awesome. Dave FM should play wilco. Have you ever heard them on there? They are totally their type of music. I don't listen to the radio much but on occasion when i do dave is one of the stations i check out.

Are they giving away any more tickets? I don;t think the show is sold out yet

  5. Yeah, im having trouble getting them both. For whatever reason I cant get them from my YHF or AGIB, and even when tried using quicktime I still cant figure it out, and now I dont have or use quicktime anymore, so.

Can someone get me both EP's frome each album (More Like the Moon, and A Ghost is Born Bonus), preferably in an .mp3 format? Or if not in .mp3 can someone show me how I can get them in whatever format, and then convert them over to .mp3/windows media player playable?

    Thanks much.

(I know I asked this once before, long ago, but I went away for awhile and never got back to those who tried to help. Now ultimately those who did link's dont work, so I could use some refreshed help :) ).

    Thanks again.

Check up at the top of this page. Their is a pinned thread for various wilco demo's.

you might be able to find some of what you are looking for there. I'm not sure.

Is the Ghost is Born ep still availble on itunes? I thought it might be. You may want to check that out too.

  6. indeed

i remember that. it was cool. this is equally cool. more wilco out there = more wilco to acidentally stumble across when flipping channels.

I'm almost positive it was used during a Martin Scorsasse film. It wasn't direct by Martin i don't think it was a film about his life long work. Like a documentary about him or something like that. I remember i wanted to see it and missed it.

  7. nah, Mike Watt sold out too, he's playing bass on Kelly Clarkson's new album. :rolleyes

I was unaware of this and immediatly googled it and damn it is true :ohwell

the sky is truely falling. next neil young will be peddleing viagra with his song will to love

  8. "Stupid Girl" by Neil Young (or for that matter, "Stupid Girl" by the Stones).

you beat me to it i was going to say stupid girl too.

I would also like to nominate again Rage Against the Machine's Killing in the Name

    Tool's-Push it:

If, when I say I may fade like a sigh if I stay,

    You minimize my movement anyway,

Well, I must persuade you another way.

    Pushing and Shoving and

    Pushing and Shoving and

    Pushing me.

    There's no love in fear.

    Staring down the hole again.

Hands are on my back again.

    Survival is my only friend.

    Terrified of what may come.

Remember I will always love you,

As I claw your fucking throat away.

It will end no other way.

It will end no other way.

  9. I am there :dancing

I agree the show is being promoted very very badly and they really need to promote the hell out of it or it is gonna be a bit empty. I went on ticketmaster and if i wanted it was able to get 9 seats in a row on row M in the orchestra. There are a lot of seats availble and i still think it is not even up on the Chastain website.

I was at the fox show and i know that did not sell out til the day of the show. I thin the fox holds about 4500. Chastain holds 6700.....

anyway i'm not too worried i'm gonna be there, wilco is gonna be there, and i don't care about much else

I am really looking forward to this show.

Oh for the record i have not received my tickets yet either

  10. I wanted to hold out from the webcasts and streamings to hear the album for the first time in tact. Just listened to the first 5 songs in my car coming into work...and felt emotion welling up inside of me as I listened, starting off with Either Way. I don't know if its Jeff's voice, the anticipation of waiting for the album to come out, the melodies, the beautiful instrumentation and arrangements, the maturing of the band, or the feel of music that I listened to when I was alot younger...but I am so thankful to have Wilco around in my life.

Wow you have more will power then me. I could not hold out, but i remember that first listen and "feeling" this album in a similar way. Some truely sincere lyrics and great musicianship.

Glad you are digging it :thumbup

  11. I printed the target webpage with it for 19.99 and went to best buy. They price matched it for me.

I always do that. I hate going to my local Target and Circuit City because they never have what i want. Best Buy does and even if they dont have it the cheapest they will price match.

I would go to a local indie store and pay more but i'd have to drive into atlanta to do that...... and i avoid that for quick trips.

  12. I have it on cd. i was in a record shop in Chapel Hill and I saw it and snatched it up. It is some kind of bootleg version obviously since it was never released on cd.

It is an okay record. It has don't be denied and last dance which i think are really cool songs. The others are just okay in my opinion.

If i knew how to "host" it i would try to hook you up but i'm pretty bad at that.
