  4. by the looks of this my seats are on the secondrow (if going by the numbers)...

the only other seating chart i can find is the crappy color coded one...

Is that the Rock Set up? I think someone else posted teh rock set up which does not include tables. It looks like that one might be for when the y have tables?

I'm not sure i'm just excited to see them! :shifty

  5. One of my favorite short stories is Vonnegut's "Long Walk to Forever." It's about a guy who goes AWOL to tell the girl next-door that he loves her on the day before her wedding. My husband read it to me on the night of our first date. Rest in peace.

I read that one too and i always enjoyed it a lot.

  6. So it Goes.

The most important thing I learned on Tralfamadore was that when a person dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is very silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present and future, always have existed, always will exist.

    -Slaughterhouse Five

"When Hemingway killed himself he put a period at the end of his life; old age is more like a semicolon," Vonnegut told The Associated Press in 2005.

"My father, like Hemingway, was a gun nut and was very unhappy late in life. But he was proud of not committing suicide. And I'll do the same, so as not to set a bad example for my children."

    Kurt's work was awesome

Everthing was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt

  7. and my good luck continues with Wico & JT presale.

    ATL - Section PIT, Row 4, Seats (7, 8)

I haven't been further back than row 8 or so for my past 3 JT shows and 3-4 Wilco shows

in the past year...Good Times indeed

    howdy neighbor,

    I'm in:

ATL- Section PIT, Row 4, Seats (9,10)

another person who post here leatherman ( i think that is the screen name all apologies if i'm wrong) is in seats 4,5,6 on that row or something like that :dancing

  8. It looks like we may finally meet as I'll be in seats 5&6.

The pit at chastain is the very front section where the tables are located on the seating chart on their website. The tables will be removed for Wilco and folding chairs will be set up. They should be great seats. I've had a lot of bad experiences at Chastain over the years, so this is pretty great news for me.

that is awesome! I'll see you there

  9. :dancing

I hope everyone was able to get good seats that wanted them.

I'm not sure of the way chastain is set up but i think i got a couple decent seats.

section- Pit row 4 seat 9/10

Man the extra fees really added up. 6.50 for shipping 8.80 for a service fee all that said i'm sure it will be worth it :thumbup

  10. The way they have pre-sale info listed, it would appear that Atlanta tickets do NOT go on sale tomorrow. If Atlanta does go on sale tomorrow, they have done a REALLY bad job making the listings clear on the website. At this time, Ticketmaster has no info regarding the Atlanta date.

Me too...Like perhaps a change of venues. Even Masquerade Music Park would be better than Chastain.

I'll be very happy to see them anywhere, but that said getting into and out of Chastain with traffic is alway a bitch :realmad

Thanks for the response i was assuming that the sale was not tomorrow but wanted to make sure.

  11. That sounds right... It is confussing sometimes....

Only problem I see is the ATL and Charlotte show go on sell at the same time...

Gonna be hard to get good seats at the same time... but I've got faith :thumbup

ps... i think the last music today password was "meter" i do not know if there will be one this time or not...

maybe somebody in the "know" will let us know... :yes

I was a little confused by the website.... :dontgetit

So the Atlanta Show goes on sale tomorrow same as the Charlotte time? WED April 11th?

Becasue the Atlatna show is the only one without info directly under it. is that because the info under charlotte is for both of them? Becasue when you click on the ticketmaster link it only brings you to the Ovens Auditorium (charlotte) dates.

    :ohwell

  12. Holy crap!

How in the heck are they playing Chastain Park in Atlanta? That seems like a REALLY big venue for them....

    hmm...

edit- on inspection of the venue website it looks really cool! (i wonder if i get a family or at least "my last name's the same!" discount? :P)

Chastain is such a bitter sweet venue for me. It should be incrediable. Outdoors large comfy seats. It is intimate for it's size. It is great if you splurge and get the seats in front of the stage they are usually (depends on the band) set up as tables and you can brign a cooler with beer/wine and have dinner as you watch the show. BUT the crowds there tend to be bad at times. Very uppity. Very Cheese & Wine. you can buy season passes and alot of folks do this becasue they tend to have a lot of old classic rock bands come through during the summer that older people go ga ga for. Some people go there more as a social gathering then to see the concert.

Now i assume wilco will have less of these people because they will have no clue who wilco is but i saw Dylan and Young there and both had some horrible people in the crowd. It was during Youngs Greendale tour and he was playing bandit (a quiet song) and the crowd was so loud neil got pissed off and cut the song off midway. He yelled at the crowd and said he would play electric songs the rest of the night so he would not have to listen to the crowd talk while he played guitar.

anyway i'm stoked. I can bring a cooler full of beer and enjoy some wilco :dancing hopefully none of those vile uppity non fans will be near me :thumbup

  13. I think Neil Young is rather good at writing something that makes you "feel"

Blind man running through the light of the night

With an answer in his hand,

Come on down to the river of sight

    And you can really understand,

Red lights flashing through the window in the rain,

Can you hear the sirens moan?

White cane lying in a gutter in the lane,

    If you're walking home alone.

Don't let it bring you down

    It's only castles burning,

    Just find someone who's turning

    And you will come around.

And i think War of man by him is my favorite anti war song... well maybe masters of war is better but i love war of man one of my top 5 neil songs

    "War Of Man"

    The little creatures

    run in from the cold

    Back to the nest

just like the days of old

    There in the safety

    of a mother's arms

    The warmth of ages,

    far away from harm again.

    Ears ringin'

    from the battle fire

    The tired warrior

    aims a little higher

    The black falcon

    or the little sparrow

    The healing light

or the flash of the barrel.

    No one wins

    It's a war of man,

    No one wins

    It's a war of man.

Silver mane flyin' in the wind

    Down through the planets

    on the run again

    No one knows where

    they're runnin' to

    But every kind is comin'

    two by two.

    Out on the delta

    where the hoofbeats pound

    The daddy's runnin'

    on the frozen ground

    Can't smell the poison

    as it follows him

Can't see the gas and machines,

    it's a war of man.

    No one wins

    It's a war of man,

    No one wins

    It's a war of man.

    The windows open

    and the little girl dreams

    The sky's her playground

    as she mounts her steed

    Across the heavens

    to the other side

    On wings of magic

    does the little girl ride.

    The baby creatures

    run in from the cold

    Back to the nest

just like the days of old

    There in the safety

    of a mother's arms

    The warmth of ages,

    far away from harm again.

    No one wins

    It's a war of man,

    No one wins

    It's a war of man,

    No one wins.

  14. Is it anything like the 20 minute acoustic version of Sixty To Zero?

no not much stands up to that. I actually used to have that on tape but lost it :(

hopefully in a decade or so when archives vol 4 (i'm guessing) comes out it will be on there :)

  15. sweet joni is a sweet song :monkey

but someone else mentioned ordinary people... that song rocks so hard it is one of my favorite neil songs ever written :worship

Also have you all heard the 16 minute acoustic version of change your mind? it is very cool :thumbup

  16. Well if you want to get a good picture of his early stuff you really can't go wrong by picking up Live at Massey Hall and Live Rust.

Now if you want to stay away from live sets and get actual albums go ahead and pick up after the gold rush and everybody knows this is nowhere. They will be good compliments to harvest.

My personal favorite is On the Beach followed by Tonights the Night. Because you can feel neil bleed pure emotion on the albums. They may not be the best albums to start with but keep those gems in mind.

He has great albums sprinkled throughout his career other highlights for me besides the ones mentioned are:

    sleeps with angels

    zuma

    greendale

    harvest moon

    freedom

    ragged glory

  17. On the two CD's Fillmore and Massey that are released in the U.S. it says D2 on Fillmore and D3 on Massey in very small printing on the spines and in the box on the front top left corner. Maybe one is in "Archives Part 1" ?

I agree with Judy, "It's easily one of the greatest live albums of all time". B)

Vol 1 is mysteriously not available yet. As mentioned many think it will be part of the Archives Set. Seems like Neil wants to run it in Chronological order. It is rumored that vol 1 will be the Riverboat shows from 1969 He did i think like 7 shows in a row in toronto all solo acoustic. If this is true it makes me VERY VERY happy!

  18. I picked up Live @ Massey Hall today the cd/dvd combo and if you are a neil young fan and don't want to wait for the box set this is an awesome cd/dvd combo.

the sound quality is excellent. I have this boot and the london boot which was similar show and the sound quality is great compared to those boots. I have not watched the dvd yet although i'm excited to do that assoon as i get off of work.

The cheapest i found it was 15.98 for the combo at Target.

Can't beat acoustic versions of cowgirl in the sand and down by the river. Plus the rendition of man needs a maid and heart of gold played together is very cool. :thumbup

  19. I got a copy of this Saturday night. MELLOW.

I like it a lot but it is very mellow.

I liked it from the first listen even though all the songs except for maybe Walken start out slow and progress into a great jam.

Nels really dominates this album in my mind and that is okay with me.

the last three songs are great. I love impossible Germany and either way a lot too.

Not sure where it will end up ranking agaisnt the other wilco albums yet but i know i will enjoy it. The album is the perfect lazy sunday morning album.
