  1. I was lucky enough to catch them in '86 (?) in a hole in the wall in Indy (max. capacity 100+ or so) w/ T.S.O.L. & Thelonius Monster (the shittiest band I've ever seen). Amazing. Also The Vogue in Indy '88 w/ Faith No More (the 'tubesock' years ). I've always thought those guys were great.
  2. Last year--Pacers after 40 games: 20-20. 2nd half: 21-21 This year--Pacers after 40 games: 20-20. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  3. Oh yeah, I'm familiar with the song. That LP (Jeff Beck Group) has one of my very favorite tunes..."Goin' Down" One of the sickest guitar solos!
  4. Excellent Beck! Wonder why it was removed.... It looks suspiciously like a clip from the German TV show "Beat Club", a great great show. I have alot of stuff on VHS from that show.
  5. Our buddy Basil II turned me onto Califone...those guys are beyond description! Lou it sounds like I need to investigate Tortoise.
  6. Patriots vs. Colts...a classic matchup the last few years. Rewind 40 years ago. Packers vs. Cowboys...classic matchup of the time. Similarities ? The Cowboys of the Meredith era...a high flying offensive team with gaudy stats to back it up, great regular season records, etc. The Packers of the Starr years...proven winners with a great coach & A QB that was a master in the big games. A few games between the two would be regarded as some of the best Championship games ever. Can Manning escape the 'bridesmaid' tag that dogged them (Dallas) until Super Bowl 6? Will Brady continue to be B
  7. 31...I've gotta horsewhip myself for missing ELP &Genesis
  8. Leppard was/is not metal. Pop music, yes. Power ballads killed metal imo.
  9. What a great guy. A fantastically funny & sarcastic writer. "While Reagan Slept" was a favorite book way back when.
  10. There is a God! I hate to see Al go, but as I've said way too many times Jackson is a cancer & he HAD to go. I dunno if this translates to more wins (probably not) for the Pacers but I'm happy regardless.
  11. Welcome ! And thanks for the heads up. I would imagine this would be appropriate here, Someone Else's Song, or Tongue-Tied..
  12. That's a very good point. The question for me is, is it more important to 'just win' or offer up the best possible candidate ? ( not necessarily the same thing ) Because the best possible candidate is really what is needed at this point.
  13. Thanks for posting this Judy! Looking forward to this...whatdisay threw me a link on the 1/19/71 awhile back. Great stuff! And I hope like hell Mike is right about a Dick's Picks-style series of archival releases...my wife will be as excited as me about something like that ( maybe even more so).
  14. I've mulled this over for awhile, and I think you're definitely onto something here Mr. Rain. Strategy-wise, that is a tough ticket. My only thing about Obama is his lack of experience in the national arena. But of course W. didn't have ANY experience in damn near anything & he won! So, hmmm... The ideal Dem candidate: someone with the foriegn policy expertise of Biden, the brains & political savvy of Hillary, the passion & gift for extemporaneous speaking of Kucinich, and the charisma of Obama. Maybe Barack HAS all those qualities...he's just too new to me to make an informed
  15. GD---1/15/79, Springfield MA AUD Best "Miracle" ever ?
  16. God, that sounds horrible. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
  17. King Crimson---Zurich Volkshaus, 11/15/73
  18. Of course it depends on the song ( and the artist ),but quite often by slowing the tempo of a song down a taste and allowing some space between the notes a song becomes much more powerful & gripping imo.
  19. Sleep Sleep tonight And may your dreams Be realized If the thundercloud Passes rain Let it rain Rain on him So let it be So let it be Sleep Sleep tonight And may your dreams Be realized If the thundercloud Passes rain So let it rain Let it rain Rain on him
  20. Every year, I mean EVERY year, when it gets down to 4 teams left I try to figure out who I'd like to see in the Super Bowl & it always seems like the 2 teams I pick lose. Of course nothing would be cooler around here than to see a Bears/Colts matchup. So it will be Saints/Pats for the Championship.
