  1. I'm not sure if I'm sold on Mac either. Eh, to each his own I guess.
  2. I wish they had let the Danny Pink plot line play out a bit longer. I didnt see much chemistry between him & Clara but the tension between him and the Doctor was a great shot in the arm for the series.
  3. Thanks to WilcoMe getting a ticket, I'll be seeing her at the end of the month!
  4. Ooh, is it good? How's the sound quality?Tweedy-sukirae on yellow vinyl The Beatles-the white album mono version
  5. I've been reading the Garcia bio by Blair Jackson. Not much so far that I didn't already know from Phil's book or the Dennis McNally book. I saw that Melvin Seals and the JGB are coming through in March. Has anyone ever seen them? Are they worth checking out?
  6. I do like the Lonely Ones. It has that touch of Irony that all Wilco fans can appreciate Lol!Hummingbirds
  7. I would imagine TWEEDY would be playing a set.
  8. I listened to the latest album today and found it to be quite good. It was hypnotic in its sound; I could see how listening to this album would work well at night.
  9. I saw DSO last year on my birthday. I knew they weren't the Dead, nor did I expect them to be. In fact, I didn't have any expectations at all. I came away from the evening having done a little dancing and had a great time. I know it's hard to judge a band from audience recordings or fan made videos on youtube, but I was not intrigued enough to see Furthur. I don't know, it seemed like they are missing something that I can't quite put my finger on.
  10. Freaks and Geeks. It started off kinda slow, but it has been getting better as the season has gone along. The writing has picked up. It's too bad it was canceled after one season.
  11. Wilco actually have a six degrees of kevin bacon connection to Pavement (more like one degree). In the summer of 2002, one of the bands that opened for Wilco was Preston School of Industry. PSOI was Scott Kannberg's (Spiral Stairs) band following the ending of Pavement. They played a Pavement song during their set, although I can't remember which one. That was one of the most fun opening acts I've seen in seeing Wilco. usually I'm like, meh, but they worth watching. I actually saw them at the Ram's Head the following winter. PSOI only put out two albums, but they're worth checking out.
  12. I've been listening to the second night of Solid Sound the last couple of days in the car. I remember there was filming going on during the weekend. I wonder if we'll see a final product sometime before the end of this year. Even though it won't be the same thing as reliving the festival, it'll be as close as we can come. It would be awesome to see a 2 disc set, one disc being a film of the festival and another disc being of the two wilco shows.
  13. I had to post about Dick's Picks 15: Englishtown, NJ 9/3/77. I've had my mind blown this afternoon, and I haven't even finished listening to the show. I'm certainly no expert when it comes to listening Dead shows, but at this point I've listened to a lot of shows. I've read books on the Dead and am aware of Lavata's passion (understated I know) for getting people to listen to Dead shows. It's the joy of hearing a moment or moments that you weren't expecting. I'm also aware of the idea that the Dead played as one unit. It's hard to necessarily judge from tapes alone about chemistry betwee
  14. Fillmore West May 10, 1997. "If you were invited to a potluck dinner, what would you bring? Ketchup" It was during this show's performance they launched into 'Dueling Banjos' in the middle of 'Casino Queen'.
  15. Wasn't one of Son Volt's recent albums called American Dust? Hmmm
