I have a pair of tkts to BAM Shuffle Mode concert featuring Michael Christie conducting, Clogs and Belle Orchestra in Brooklyn this Thursday that I can't use. They excellent seats, (ORCH. ROW G - 10 &12)and if the show is anythign like what I heard @ the Kitchen last year when the Bryce Dessner's chamber compositions were performed on program with Glenn Kotche's percussion pieces, it will be a stunning event. i email me @ toujourstango@aol.com if you would like to use tkts. Two caveats -- you can't make money off them (honor system) and, you gotta come and get them on upper westsid

C'mon, be a man send a 3" sq of the stinking cap! Which leads to my final comment on the subject for this am, jeans, corduroys, flannel shirts, so long as it's cotton and it's been part of your "life experience," it can be included. The only caveat is, it's gotta be clean, no sh-- !~ Guess you'll get to keep your hat afterall.

sharky, some answers above ... getting the quilt to them will be either their publicist, road/tour manager, personal delivery depending on timing ... it'll get there. not being glib, but I know I can get it delivered. Hope you'll send me your piece. lisa

ike: First off, love the vest idea, especially for Pat who is often resplendent in a vest! And, your Temptations vision is inspired, but my first reaction was they'd look like the Partridge family and Glenn Kotche/Danny Bonnaducci(?) and Mike J/Susan Dey keyboard/model/actress sent me reeling .... Your "custody" Q is totally valid too, but I think they'll hang it at the loft or eat burritos under it on the bus or use as a tarp for equipment and it'll be fine. Originally I was going to make a quilt for Jeff, just a gift from me to him. And, while people pay me a lot of money for my quilt

Okay, a pair of jeans seems to be too ambitious an "ask." Or is it the "message" that's off-putting? Or the shipping costs? I genuinely thought (as did a few others) it would be jumped on as a way to collectively express ourselves and our appreciation to the band. Okay, it's not a macrame owl ... please help me understand the lack of response. Maybe I can revise my request to encourage participation. I don't want this to be a gift from me ... lisa

Got a bit of both of your stories in my little ditty ... was given a writing assignment by my "shrink" (who hails from Nashville), and I referenced a transcendent Wilco concert experience last summer @ Pines ... turns out her husband is a huge fan and I copied a tape of the show for him which completely obliterated all borders but ... hated those borders anyhow and her husband was thrilled. I gave her a Wilco t when she left NYC. lisa

infinite thanks (hilliard?) for putting this up -- i can't remember a more profoundly satisfying concert experience than that night in brooklyn and being able to flashback with a soundtrack is wonderful! lisa

I am looking for fans jeans to use in a Wilco "thank you/tribute" project. If you have jeans to spare and would like to be part of a fan community effort, email me @ toujourstango@aol.com. All contributors are asked to include a signed message (there are infinite possibilities here, most immediate thoughts that come to mind include favorite song, lyric, musical sequence ...) on white paper. I will transfer your messages onto fabric. The text will be a streamed element (strips)incorporated into the quilt design. The quilt will be given to the band -- somehow! I plan to start work on/arou

Just in case anyone missed this one, "Let's not get carried away" live version from last fall's 9:30 Club (Washington, DC) on/or close to Froggie's bday features the best drum solo I've ever heard (including Bill Kreutzman and Micky Hart's dueling drum solos) from Mr. Glenn Kotche. You can check it out via NPR's archives .... It's about 1 1/2 minutes of percussion perfection ...

They played When the Roses ... when they were on Prairie Home Companion (051207). The link is still alive and well on WILCO - NEWS. There are other lovely surprises from backlist and current catalog ... Enjoy! Lisa

yeah, and you hear a song that was incredible it's first incarnation .... I Shall Be Released .... and 20 (?) years later Jeff Tweedy's tender but raw and scarred vocals are startling ... no, exquisite. I love the continuum!

1st album - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (got my ears pierced and bought a paper dress -- was my bday ... 1st concert was @ Hunter College Auditorium -- Opening Act: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Middle Act: Fleetwood Mac (though I might have dreamed that) - headliner JM & The Doors ... age has some benefits thanks for triggering the memories ....

Max loved Graceland whenever he was car bound. In the cranky fussy early pm (5-7), a heavy dose of STOP MAKING SENSE always worked wonders --- caveat -- be prepared to dance with bebe in your arms. Beatles White album tied with Avalon Sunset for just before bedtime.

Any tapers have Glenn stashed in their collections? And, hc he doesn't have a spot in the torrent, anyhow? Just wondering on both accounts. And, what can I do to earn my keep (simmer down now, boys), considering I how technochallenged I am, to be worthy of a slice of Glenn's peach pie?* *be nice. be gentle. The naive thing is not an act, I really am simply Lisa.

One last thang -- I really wanted to join you in Champaign -- the last time I was there was in 1973 or 1974 (were you born yet?), when I hitchhiked from NYC to Champaign for a Grateful Dead concert. Best remember drawing snow pictures with the tires of the semi-truck that gave me a lift. Seems like magic comes to Champaign. Please folks, tell me, it's close to being there hearing your memories. (No, I am not a sad old lady, just passionate about my passions ... )

Lullaby for Rafters and Beams -- snagged a recording from Raleigh -- if somebody call tell me how to get it up for others, it'll be there -- be forewarned -- I am totally disabled with the computer, so you'll have to call me and hold my hand, but it is a gorgeous 6 minutes!

THE ZAMBONI MAN SONG!!!! - (Lullaby ...) one of the most memorable moment of my limited JT solo experience was hearing this heartbreaker lovingly strummed in Raleigh last july. poor nearly teenage guy next to me died when i gestured ( close with me"). Another one of the reasons not to wear mascara, GIRLS, to JT or Wilco gigs. (GUYS - the tear streaked think is a turn on!) Lucky guys all of you who got the Zamboni Man song.

Agree more than enthusiastically that NN launched his tune/this thread with perfect-pitch. Reread NN's post several times for the sheer pleasure of savoring truth elegantly laid out. Truth is compelling, compelling is forward motion, forward motion is linear, is that an abyss in motion, is nn a double negative that has the superpower positivity? (Don't indulge lsl by responding)-- my intention is to honor the lovely simplicity of the writer's truthful post that I wish I had put into play, but am so grateful to have shared. It is so like the band, the musicians, songs, lyrics, sounds that
