  1. The warp of the first disc is pretty common for new vinyl. I would say 50% of new rock records are slightly to pretty damn warped. Why Quality control on new vinyl sucks now, I'm not sure. In this case putting the cd in the sleeve maybe the cause. It makes sense to buy from one of the 4-5 vinyl online vendors and or Amazon, as they will take retruns although you will have to pay to ship it back to them $2.77 (media Mail) you probably will want delivery confirmation too. Retail stores can't accept returns becuase they aren't allowed to return them to get credit for them via the distribors any
  2. Tweedy and Jay Bennett making music together was made Wilco for me. I am fucking floored. C
  3. Here is some? Most ? of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5bBCec6R5g C
  4. Valuable, prized, and able to enjoy ( a stamp it ain't) mint 1a/1a Promo stamped and labeled: NEIL YOUNG ON THE BEACH signed by Neil I have others may be worth more but this is my most prized. I can't think of what could top it unless I got Dylan to autograph my Mono Blonde on Blonde. C
  5. Hard to believe that music today sold all their Colorado springs tixs in 1 minute. I have actually had better luck with better seats via regular onsales lately, guess I will do that on friday. Adios C
  6. The link above is for a superior pressing, but it is out of print. So yeah, they all seem to be going out of print now eh? C
  7. Yep they also managed to capture a Welcome to Chicago sign in the frame. C
  8. Winner. Unless you had the vinyl it would be near impossible to spot. It one of the best drugged out masterpieces around. C Holly Crap Pete Carrol's knose is jacked up.
  9. Well done, What record? It's one you all should own. C
  10. Mine is a nickname, not unlike the artist in question however his is just an abreviated version of his first name.
  11. They were beat by a good 30 years... Hint it is featured in a collage on the back of a soul record, that is just as critically aclaimed as YHF. C
  12. I wonder if he can stay clean for 5 years. Most can't. He needs to get his shit together. His music has been downhill as a direct result of his substance abuse for the last 10 years. C
  13. The archives projecy (go ahead and laugh) is actually really, no I mean really going to come out this fall. It is supposed to include two dvds of archival material C
  14. I have posted this before, but I find the German 180 gram import very enjoyable. I think it sounds better than the redbook cd release. It can be had from specialty online vinyl retailers like ElusiveDisc or Acoustic sounds. The US presses of everything prior to YHF are nothing to get excited about or pay for, other than the collectible value. For instance Summerteeth is a very compressed digital recording and ownign it in it's current state isn't worth the cost. The two most recent studio records were done well on Sundazed 180 gram pressings and are double disc sets. $25 for 2 180 gram LPs is
  15. Who else scanned this and thought it was an obit for Pete on first glance? C
  16. different, I understand, sometime I throw something up becasue no one else has it C
  17. A-Man do have Vols 2 and 3, if so could you up 'em to Oink? I posted Vol 1 last spring and seems to have made the rounds C
  18. The German 180 gram import sounds better. I got mine from ElusiveDisc dot Com it 30 bucks. Money well spent My crown Jewels? I spend a lot of time collecting so without further adieu my top ten: UK -1/-1 first press "Sgt. Peppers" Mono bought the day it came out. UK Mono "Revolver" -2/-2 press (the matrix numbers were changed after one day of pressing because they decided to put a different mix of TNK after that first day's press run, so -2/-2 is for all intents and purposes the corrected 1st press) UK 1st press Tube Cut mono CBS Orange textured Label "John Wesley Harding" Bill Ev
  19. If Greg Kot donated a dollar every time a kid who he has hoodwinked into thinking that Summerteeth is somehow flawed posts, this website would support itself. Cassius
  20. I don't quite understand all the technical ramifications but from what I've read Time Fades Away was cut "direct from the tapes" via some prehistoric computer device, and there was also a short lived sound conversion device used. So the tapes can't be remastered. Someone would have to have all the reels from the entire tour and figure out each source and then create a new recording in order to "redo" Time Fades Away. That said a very nice HDCD version was made in the mid 90s from the difficult original mix. This was pulled back just prior to release FLAC copies can be found. Look around. I
  21. If your not to picky about which pressing you can find at least all the 60s and 70s , and I'm sure most of the 80's stuff as most people that owned those albums liquidated them. However the Bootleg Series and Biograph are boxes and wouldn't frame too well. BLS 1-3 is rare on vinyl and would cost you several hundreds of dollars. Your just getting em for the covers right? C
  22. I wouldn't drop too much coin on it. However if your looking for things to do with 30 bucks I would reccomend the German WB 180 gram of Being There. It is excellent. Stay patient, my magic 8 ball says that Summerteeth will also have an analog remaster and be once again in print within the next 12 months. ditto AM cheers Cassius
