  1. I'm loving this cd.

It was definitely a pleasant surprise. It was not what I was expecting, but I really am digging it. The first 4 songs took a while to get familiar with, but the last half is solid.

I totally get that many people are left wanting, it's definitely not for everyone.

There is so much to enjoy though. The brass on Codex? Awesome.

I'll leave it to pitchfork to let everyone know whether it is album of the year or that Radiohead has jumped the toy musical shark.

    But I love it.

  2. Thanks for the help Kalle.

I gave up cause it said presale is sold out, but after reading your message again, it gave me 1 ticket Orch row a, dead centre.

I guess im going alone now, but that's ok! :)

  3. I love the new cd.

I've been listening to it quite a bit, it's great.

    Weird question:

Does anyone else find that Win's vocal melody or even singing style on 'Sprawl (flatland)'remind them of Roger Water's solo stuff?

I know its crazy, but from the first time I heard 'Sprawl(flatland)', I knew it reminded me of something but i couldnt put my finger on it.

Then I realized the vocal melody really reminds of Roger Waters. It feels like something he would have sung on Amused to death or something, lol.

Either way this cd is awesome.

  4. My best friend is getting married August 14th. The same day that Arcade Fire play their show on Toronto island. But that seemed to have not been a problem since i recently saw AF at one of their last minute Toronto shows here last month. That show has passed, and now i still want to see the island show. But I've made my peace.

But this morning I read that Janelle Monae is opening up for Arcade fire?!??!?!?

My friend is a dead man.

There is no other way to say it.

  5. Markov out for 4 months….

Any slim chance the habs had to make the 8th spot has just been extinguished.

With their best player out, an elite defenseman in the league, out for so long there is no way they can make the playoffs the way I see it.

Should make a lot of you guys happy!

    ;)

  6. Dear God is a sad attempt at a Gil Scot Heron cover for me

    You are probably right.

But Jim wears his influences on his sleeve these days, and you can tell he is just really having fun.

That is good enough for me.

In fact that is what makes this cd appealing to me - it never feels like some sort of cash grab, you really get the sense everyone is just chilled out, digging each other's music and having fun.

  7. I think there's only disagreement on In My Life (McCartney says he wrote part of it) and Eleanor Rigby.

    --Mike

Paul wrote the bridge to 'in my life'.

John claims to have written half of 'eleanor rigby', not sure what Paul has said about that though.

  8. They must be dyslexic? It is probably my least favorite B&S record but still Dirty Dream #2, Summer Waisting, Ease Your Feet Into the Sea, Simple Things! I would still give it an 8.5!

it's not their best for sure.

But I like it waaay more than i like the life pursuit...
