  1. Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to try this pedal out. Or if someone can suggest a delay pedal in the same price range.

I really want to check this pedal out, was just curious what some of you tone guru's out there think of it.

    Thanks for the help!

  2. Get the amp you want. You can turn the amp and your guitar down as low as they will go, and you will be able to play in your apt.

Thanks so much for your help guys.

Buying a first tube amp when you don't know much about them can be very overwhelming especially if you are looking at sites like harmony central.

i think i want a hot rod deville 212, or the hot rod deluxe. but i get the impression both get extremely loud, with little headroom...

I am also not sure if the hrd will be loud enough when i gig/jam.

    thanks again for the help...

  3. Hey all was just wondering if some of the ridiculously smart people on this board could help me out:

I am planning on a buying my first tube amp.

I have had my heart set on buying a fender hot rod deville 410.

but deep in my heart i know that this will be way too loud for my apartment, and while it will be fun for jamming, playing it in my place at fun volume is impossible.

So i was also looking at the fender hot rod deluxe. or maybe even the deville with the 2 12's...

Also I guess the fender blues deluxes could be good. if i can pick out a good fuzz/distortion pedal...

does anybody have any suggestions as to what i should go for?

    I really need help deciding.

i think the hot rod deluxe would be nice, i just dont know if it is not as nice as the deville, or what to expect.

thanks guys, i really appreciate it...

  4. Solace speaks the truth.

Pearl Jam are incredible live band. Even most people who don't really care for them can't deny that after seeing them live.

Nirvana? Give me a break. Most overrated band ever....

If I never heard another Nirvana song for the rest of my life I could care less.

Now the Pixies? THAT'S a great band.

  5. the show was awesome.

highlights for me, nels picture of george michaels (arrested development) on his guitar, WOW!

    Nels.

    hoodoo voodooo.

it was funny, i was standing at the stage right in front of nels, we actually went back to our seats after about 7 songs, cause we were right in front of his monitor, and could hear his guitar waaay louder then everything else, lol.

but it was nice to be so close.

but i also had some rude guy and his wife demand to get in front of me cause he was short, and he had a front row ticket. i gladly moved for him, but did not appreciate his rude, demanding attitude.

but it was an awesome show, would have loved to see some being there stuff, but hoodoo voodoo was awesome.

nice to see either way too!

    nels is a beast!

  6. How about the album he actually produced for Emmy Lou...great stuff.

Dylan clearly believes the same thing, since he spent so much time talking about the Oh Mercy Sessions in Chronicles I.

    Acadie is an amazing cd.

My dad used to play it all the time when I was like ten.

We would go on road trips, and at some point he would put that tape in the deck.

And I would groan and complain.

    Yet now I was misguided.

Cause that cd is nostalgic heaven for me now.

Such textures and tones on that cd, wow....

  7. Hey Guys,

The lack of an update is due to nothing being resolved. I spoke to a very helpful, friendly dude at Music Today who apologized sincerly for the fact I was moved, but was told it was entirely due to the promoter contacting them. After speaking to Massey Hall, I got the same answer, with the added information of "No, nothing is being physically reconfigured unless we haven't heard about it yet," and having been to Massey a number of times, picturing how they'd possibly reconfigure the venue or stage setup really doesn't make sense.

House of Blues was named as the promoter in this case, and after a number of attempts to contact them via phone or email, I haven't had any luck thus far.

Then my tickets for the new seats arrived.

    Wanton douchebaggery all about.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I appear to be out of alternatives.

Hang outside the venue all day.

When you see Jeff tell him, maybe he will let you sit on the stage.

    :)

  8. When The Roses Bloom Again - also to be found on Oxford American Southern C.D. Sampler - ISSUE 34 4th Annual Southern Music Issue. July-August 2000

One time I saw Wilco play, they opened with 'one by one', then they played 'roses' then they played 'bob dylan's beard'.

most amazing start to a show ever.

  9. I am seeing the mighty Wilco at Massey Hall on Saturday.

I have heard of people on this board who have been able to see Wilco's soundchecks...

Can someone tell me how this happens?

I would love to see one, I just have no idea how...

    Thanks guys!

  10. Bruins have chosen Julien as their new coach...yes, the same Julien who got fired from the Devil's last season with 5 regular season games left.

How I feel about this...I'm still undecided.

Julien is a great coach. Fact.

His firing in New Jersey was retarded. There is probably not a hockey analyst in the world that would have backed up that move. Julien made so much improvements on the Devils. Boston fans should count their lucky stars, not be undecided.

  11. Hey guys,

I saw this Fender performer 112 combo amp for sale for pretty cheap.

It looks a lot like the fender roc pro, but i cant tell if it is smaller...

    Does anybody know this amp?

    Does it suck?

How would it compare to the Fender roc pro ( i am familiar with this amp)....

I am just deciding what to do, i have the option to buy either amp for a pretty decent price.

I presently cannot afford a really nice amp right now, so dont tell me to buy a vox, :)

    let me know guys,

    I appreciate it...

  12. Has any Canadians got there tickets yet?

I am trying not to worry, but I think they are sending them to my house via UPS, and I am at work during the day, I dont want them to send them at the last minute, only to have them sent back cause i am not there to sign for them....

has anyone got them, or purchased tickets through music today in the past?

When do you usually get them?

    Thanks for the help guys,

  13. I think I lost a little respect for Jack white here, I can see not wanting a crappy sounding version of my new record being heard out there, but anyone with a half a brain that took the time download this shit knows it's not the greatest quality and are probably big enough fans that they'll buy the record anyhow, if for anything to just to see if there is sexy pics of Meg in the artwork. I can see a rep from the label calling in and flippin out, but Jack himself, to me it does make him sound like kind of an A-hole, be satisfied you get to make a living off of making music, you could still be in Detroit working to hard at some shitty job for not enough money.

    Why?

The dude is passionate about his music. I don't know about this cd, but take the white stripes last cd. It was recorded all with analog recording equipment. He goes out of his way to make high quality music that sounds the way he wants it to. If you made and produced a cd you were proud of, would you want people to hear it for the first time trhough a very low quality medium? of course not. If you were a movie director, would you want to unveil your latest film by showing it to the world with a video ipod? of course not.

the dude is very passionate and proud of his music. any artist needs some kind of control over the way their work is presented.

    Good for you Jack.

  14. there was a cop shot and killed in cleveland heights on friday by a man who was off his anti-psychotic meds (no health insurance, no job, no meds

Hey guys just a question, I live in Canada.

In the states, do you have to have a job, to get the necessary insurance to purchase necessary prescriptions???

    If that is true, wow....

  15. Yep...I forgot thats where they are from..I will bring my between the bridges album too and listen to it there!

I grew up in Halifax, it's a fun city!

There's lots to do, I guess you just have to know where to go.

Sping Garden road is always great this time of year.

I would reccomend the economy shoe shop for an awesome place to have a beer.

You'll know why if you go there, that place is huge.

Head up Quinpool rd, go to the commons.

Go to the waterfront, get some amazing fish and chips.

And drink lots of beer, at all the awesome pubs downtown.
