  1. Thought I would post the link to the Chicago Lighthouse charity which had a booth at Jeff's scholarship concerts. Looks like a great organization and the gal i spoke with at the concert last night was very artculate about the mission of the group. I have nothing to do with the organization, but thought it was worth passing on to the community

After sleeping on it, i'm still pissed that we happened to be right in front of the biggest douchebags in the room. Seriously, these guys aside from screaming during and after songs yelled out random shit.

This isn't word for word, but this is what happened at one point.

    Jeff talking before a song.

    Douchebag 1: CHELSEA JAGER!!!!

Jeff: Chelsea what? what's he talking about?

    Douchebag 1: YEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

random guy in crowd: it's the blackhawks song.

Jeff: The blackhawks song is called Chelsea Jager? Wait. how did we end up here?

Douchebag 2, to Douchebag 1: dude, jeff tweedy just chewed you a new asshole

"random guy in crowd" here... that was a strange moment, and clearly Jeff is not into hockey enough to get the reference. I think the D-bag near you was going for a repeat of the "Single Ladies" vibe from last year with disasterous results...I sang a bit for him and he looked like he swallowed a furball. After the exchange above I said to him , I think a hockey game just broke out and he gave me a funny look and launched into his next tune... overall, except for a few douches, i thought the crowd was pretty great. And the guy Jeff sang dir3ectly to, in the front row, is a long time Wilco fan. Later in teh show Jeff said that wherever they go, there Paul is. "If we got off the plane in Kuwait it would be like "Hi Paul. oing to Iceland tomorrow?" Paul: "Yup"

  3. Another great show, with a much more varied set list than last night. Started a bit late, so no banter for the first 4 songs. Can't remember whole set list but some highlights were What Light, Ripple, So Much Wine, Screen Door, Monday, One Wing, Sunken Treasure, Acuff-Rose (on a National guitar), among others. Nice to see our Wilco family tonight. Travel safe all!

  4. anoyone have contact info for jam productions? had some issues with tickets I purchased for the 16th but can't seem to find a way to contact them to resolve....

  5. He did seem a little out of it, defintely "into" the studio work, is my guess. Pretty much all of the songs were standards, though I loved hearing New Madrid done well and the new tune was realy good.

When he came out the "it's just me" line was priceless. Also the "Chicago is the greatest city spiel was hysterical in that everyone cheered along, and then he slowly roasted himself with (paraphrasing) "I know because I have been to every city in the world... every single one... and they all have something slightly sucky about them, but not this one"

hope thre's a Montessori benefit or two in our near future....

  6. That was an incredible night! I really can't get over it. Jeff and Sue's stamina, patience, generosity and grace were really impressive. I don't know how they do it. Thanks to everyone for putting it together.

Loved hearing far far away, so much wine, elt, new madrid.... the whole enchilada...loved seeing people play with Jeff... The wish you were here sing along at the end was indescribable...Even with the amazing setlist, there were 20 more songs I'd love to hear...amazing artist, that jeffro

  7. Gun, Screen Door, Acuff-Rose - some nice Uncle Tupelo picks. I'd love to see Gun live sometime.

How does Jeff do Spiders as an acoustic song? I've seen one of his solo acoustic shows, and am amazed at what he can pull off, but Spiders is hard to imagine.

Well it's a lot shorter, to start with... it's actually pretty great, esp the "there's no blood on my hands" part...

  8. While Jeff did say "Company in My Back (first time acoustic)" he isn't actually right. He's done it before. I've seen him do it at Marytrs and I haven't checked wilcobase to see if it was done any other time. Lots of crazy songs tonight. Long show. Great, funny stories. Surprised by the lack of songs from BT, YHF and W(TA)

I thought Company in my back sounded phenomneal, didn't you? and yeah he really stuck to the request list... a lot of the usual suspects left for tomorrow night...

  9. Just finished up the first of two annual scholarship shows... have seen many of these over the years, but this was one of the best. Here's a taste of the set list (not in order)... Jeff played 30 songs, all requests from the early arrivals...
