I agree with El, I think we all know where we all stand on the abortion issue and we also know that we're not changing any minds here.

I'd be mighty pissed if I was a resident of Alaska and a parent or spouse of a person who was deployed there. That's a very insensitive thing for her to say.

I'm kicking myself for not growing peppers this year. I did find a tomato plant growing next to my deck a couple of months ago. I transplanted it into a better spot and it's got tons of blooms on it. I just hope it has time to ripen before the first frost. I'm not sure what kind of tomato it is. I can't figure out what kind of bug eggs those are. They are silvery blue and tiny and round. They are clustered all over one of the leaves on the top side. I checked What's That Bug and there are no examples. Maybe I should just put them in a jar and see what hatches. If it's something goo

Post all your gardening stuff here. Does anyone know of a website that you can identify insect eggs on? I have something that laid tiny, silvery-blue eggs all over the top sides of one of the leaves on my trumpet vine. I don't want to destroy them if they're good bugs.

You might want to take the kid to the doctor. I don't know if a penny can block anything when they're that young.

I have a praying mantis living in my flower garden. It's been there for about a week. At least I think it's the same one.

When we were kids my dad was laid off most of a summer and my mom was a stay at home mom. Needless to say, money was really tight and between the garden and the fish my dad caught, we ate pretty well.

Sure, same reason a lot of people grow a garden and raise their own livestock. Except maybe he doesn't live in a place or have the resources to raise his own livestock.

To those that are 100% opposed to hunting, what do you propose that we do in the state of Michigan with the deer population if no one is allowed to shoot them? We already have a problem with car/deer accidents and farmers fields being destroyed by them as it is. What happens when their population grows exponentially? There really aren't any natural preditors of deer in this state that can handle the numbers. Is it ok to hunt for food? I can see a vegitarian/vegan stance on this, but what if you eat meat? Hunting is a more humane way of getting meat than 99.9% of the meat sold in stores
