I finished a twirl skirt and a matching appliqued t-shirt for a customer today. I was a wreck about the whole thing, but it turned out nice.

Lots of vibes coming your way. It's so hard to see your kids sick. Luckily, kids seem to rebound faster than adults. They'll be back to their old selves in no time.

That reminds me of a Detroit anchor man who had a little drug problem in the past. Does anyone remember when Frank Turner on channel 7 would do the news while high? So funny.

I'm sure he'll be on here later. I told him about the thread and he was pretty excited to be able to talk to someone about it. He just hasn't been on his computer yet today. Our son plays indoor soccer and he took him to practice and then we have to go to dinner. So it will be a while yet.

This be Jay http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showuser=169

I'll have to tell Jay about this thread. He's all football, all the time. He even ordered an Arsenal jacket, scarf, coffee mug, key chain, and some pencils and notebooks for the kids. Our tv is on Fox Soccer Channel and GOLTV almost more than it's on the Disney Channel and that's saying a lot. He also has a Setanta subscription so he can watch games on his computer at work and at home. We don't get the regular channel with our cable.

A huge problem with the economy in this state, especially in the Metro Detroit area is that all of these UAW people were making close to $30 an hour. Most don't have a college education and a great majority of them barely made it through high school. So when the plants close, they are unskilled in anything else and can only find jobs making $9-10 per hour. They forclose on their mortgages and their cars. They live off of their credit cards and can't afford to pay those either. It's kind of like the problem created itself.

I think Jay and I are taking the kids on a vacation this summer. We'll go up north and spend a couple of days on Mackinac Island and a couple of days in Traverse City and a couple of days at Jason's parent's house in Mancelona.

No Drew isn't back yet, but I always like when they talk about local news anyways. I only get to listen to it for about 10 minutes a day when I'm taking Austin to school. Well, sometimes I have to change it because they are talking about something totally inapporpriate for a 10 year old...

Thanks! The sun may be out, but it's still freaking cold out.

Archer wasn't too bad. He just wanted to get the heck out of there.

Will Detroit ever get someone in there as mayor or on city council who isn't a crooked snake? I kind of wish I had to drive to work this morning so I could listen to Drew & Mike comment about it.

I did it again last night with the baby and my 10 and 6 year olds who are sinusy and coughing. It worked on all 3.

The only movie I've seen with him in it is 10 Things I Hate About You and damn, I liked him in that movie. I have on on DVR, I should watch it.

Yay!!

I use knee socks. The leg warmers are for babies and toddlers. You can see them here. I haven't done a darn thing today...

If I lived closer, I'd do it for you. Although, I still have my mother in law's curtains downstairs that I haven't even started on.

I've heard from a few people to put Vicks VapoRub on the kids feet when they have a cough and I never did it because I figured there was no way it could work. Anyways, last night Grace was really stuffy and was coughing and was having a hard time staying asleep because she couldn't suck her thumb. So I figured I'd try it. So I slathered the bottom of her feet up and put her in her footie pj's and zipped her up. She stopped coughing within minutes and he nose cleared up and she slept very well the rest of the night. I figured I'd let you guys know about it to see if it works on grown ups

My plans for the day: Make about 10 pair of leg warmers for my customers. Make some cowboy and cowgirl bibs for an upcoming craft show and also to list on eBay. They are bibs that look like a cowboy bandana around their neck. They're way cute. Make my niece some hair bows. Rip the seams out of the Valentine pageboy cap I made and put it all back together the right way. I hate when that happens... If my new fabric arrives today, I'll be making a twirl skirt!

That's cute. You could always knit the uterus that is out on Knitty. I always thought that one was funny.
-
I made this skirt pretty much all on my serger today. I only used the regular machine for top stitching and sewing the casing for the elastic.

Kate, if you want to make a hat like that for Grace, I'll pay you. Let me know!
