  1. I think it's impossible to forget it. I still remember the conversations I had with people that day. I still remember talking to my dad on the phone when the second plane hit. He was watching it on tv at the time. It's kind of like when you ask people what they were doing when they found out Kennedy was killed. They just remember.
  2. It's not necessarily buying what you don't need, it's buying what you can't afford.
  3. I think a lot of it also has to do with people living wayyyy beyond their means. Just because the bank will loan you $400K for a new house, doesn't mean that you have to spend that much on a new house. A lot of people who think they're being screwed are actually screwing themselves. I think the cost of living is going up because people have to spend that much more to keep up with the Jones'. When I was a kid, my mom stayed home and my dad worked. They didn't use credit cards, buy fancy stuff they didn't need, etc. My dad bought his first house in 1978 at 17% interest! They did with wha
  4. A tuna sammich and some noodles with alfredo sauce on them and a diet cherry 7 up.
  5. Fried pickles are awesome. My dad made me eat rabbit once, he told me it was chicken. It was the nastiest thing I've ever eaten. He used to eat squirrel all the time too. Ick. I do like venison.
  6. Crap, we have 2 gameboys, sega game gear, 2 NES, 2 X-Box, X-Box 360, and a PS2. We also have a Nintendo 64 that a friend has right now but is supposed to drop off. We use all of them but the PS2. We're getting a Wii ASAP...
  7. Add me to the bandwagon. I can't wait for this thing to come out.
  8. Yeah, good luck with that. The world is supposed to end that day, remember?
  9. I'd rather have unscented mustard than stinky marbles too.
  10. I'm divorced and was remarried just over a year ago. Divorce sucks, but sometimes it's for the best. My ex and I just grew apart and didn't get along. At all. Now that we don't have to "answer" to each other, so to speak, we get along great. I actually consider him and his wife friends of mine. It's crazy how things work out sometimes. You'll get through it and you'll move on and hopefully find that perfect someone out there. Oh, and one thing that really helped is, don't fight over stupid things that don't really matter, just for the sake of fighting. I hope that made sense.
  11. Duh, not if you're trying to be a hipster.
  12. That was a bad visual.
  13. I've heard good things about hypnosis. I'm too much of a wimp to go the natural route and with Jacob, I wasn't given a choice because I had pevlic separation and my ob said I needed one. That was ok with me because I would have had one anyways.
  14. There will always be exceptions to the rule. Plus formula is getting more advanced all the time. It's formula, not rat poison. Jacob gets it almost every day because my supply sucks (no pun intended) and I can't pump enough to keep up with him while I'm at work. Plus, now that I'm pregnant, my supply is lacking even more. I do agree that for the most part, breastfed babies are healthier during the first year. There will be formula fed babies that are ultra healthy and bf babies that are sickly, but I'm talking about averages...
  15. I can't believe that there are 10 states that don't have any laws.
  16. My oldest 2 boys were not breastfed but Jacob was. One thing that I've noticed is that Jacob is almost 6 months old and hasn't had a sniffle. Both of my other boys had been sick multiple times by that age. Maybe it's just me, but I think the birth part is a piece of cake. I did have an epidural all 3 times though.
  17. Congrats! If you need any support while you're just getting started, let me know. The first two weeks are hard, but after that, it does get easier. I can't tell you how many times I almost gave up, but I'm so glad that I stuck with it.
  18. Some people nurse for a few years. WHO actually recommends nursing until age 2. I only planned on doing it until he was about 6 months. Now that he's approaching that age, I think I'll keep going until right before the next baby is born, or until he decides to stop, whichever comes first. I'm about 6 weeks pregnant right now. Yikes.
  19. I did have someone stare once, but that's it. I use a cover and people don't even realize I'm doing it. The person who was staring was a teenage boy and he kept walking past me and getting closer and it was creeping me out. I went and sat somewhere else. I was at my son's baseball game. My husband said he was trying to sneak a peak. He said teenage boys did that. Who knew?
  20. hahaha I didn't notice that part before. It's kind of like the story not too long ago in Ann Arbor where a lady was nursing at the YMCA near the pool and was kicked out because there was a sign that said no food or drink allowed. They said it wasn't sanitary. WTFever, she wasn't even in the pool. Don't they know that she was probably leaking milk all over the pool before she nursed her kid? Plus, they'd have to kick all the little kids out for peeing in the pool too. That's what chlorine is for. Plus, her two other kids were swimming. Was she supposed to take them out of the pool a
  21. I nurse in public, and have yet to have someone tell me to move it to the bathroom. I'm actually waiting for someone to do it though. Let them suffer the wrath of Christy. bwahhhahahahaha
  22. Here's the cover: Should nursing in public be allowed? Discuss...
