  1. At least he's better than K-Fed.
  2. JV softball, varsity cross country and track. Track events included shot put, discus, and the 880. I was 5'6" and 125 pounds and totally dominated the shot put... I was a cheerleader in 8th grade. Whoooohooo
  3. Not sure what ages you're looking for... Both of my kids really like The Beatles. Especially Help, Yellow Submarine, Hey Jude, Birthday, Love Me Do, In My Life. My 3 year old likes Uncle Tupelo "I Wanna Be Your Dog", Hot Hot Heat "You Owe Me An IOU", Supernova "Chewbacca", Pavement "Cut Your Hair". Basically anything that is catchy. My 8 year old likes The Beatles, Wilco, Hot Hot Heat, Weezer, Greenday, The Decemberists, The White Stripes, Guided By Voices "Teenage FBI" and "Chasing Heather Crazy", Johnny Cash, Art Brut, Ryan Adams, Saturday Looks Good To Me, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, We Are Sc

  5. Halloween is more of a christian holiday.
  6. Please God, do not let Jay see this thread...
  7. Where did you get those socks? I've never seen anything like that. Jacob needs a pair!!
  8. I don't let my kids play sexually violent video games. They do know the difference between right and wrong though and they know that video games are video games and not real life. I'll also add that even though I let my kids play the games, they also are active in sports, play with kids in the neighborhood, get good grades, etc. Heck, my 8 year old and I are reading The Phantom Tollbooth together, not many kids in 3rd grade can read AND comprehend a book that has a 6.4-7.2 (depending where you look) reading level...
  9. Crap, I'm a bad mom... My kids play with GI Joe, little plastic army men, guns, video games like Medal of Honor, Halo 2, Starwars Battlefront II. If I don't let them play with guns, they'll find other objects and use those as guns anyways. Heck, my 4 year old (when he was 2 or 3) used a cross as a gun in the past. Oh, but to get back on topic...I see nothing wrong with a video game being used as a recruiting tool...
  10. A little tolerance goes a long way when it comes to religion. I'm a pretty religious person (Catholic), but I realize that not everyone has the same beliefs that I do, and that's ok. I have friends who are Muslim, Jewish, Agnostic, Athiest, etc. I respect their beliefs and I would hope that they would respect mine. The problem comes in when people stop respecting others and try to push their beliefs where they are not wanted.
  11. Damn, I'm going to have to have a talk with Jay for not letting me know. Seducing the camera...
  12. I used to have a thing for Carlos Pena, but now that he's back to the Mudhens, forget it...
  13. Yeah, except my kids saw Brandon Inge at a mall in Cleveland when they were there to see the Tigers/Indians game and they wouldn't even say hi to him. Their friends went up and shook his hand, but my kids were too star struck. If I were a good parent and taught them well, they would have had the sharpie markers and baseball cards out...
  14. You can also use the xbox 360 controllers and play at everyvideogame.com.
  15. Add Jay and I to the loser list. Except I won't be drunk, being knocked up and all...
  16. Well, since we're posting baby pics. Jacob
  17. Now Louie, I do believe I've seen pics of you before on VC, I'm calling shenanigans on the "no pic to put up." I had blackmail type pics of El Whatever His Name Is, but can't seem to find them...Damn...I also can't find the pic of Kris and Alison that I had or the pic of Kate and Graham... OVERALL, I have enjoyed this thread. Except for the crabby bickering that is going back and forth. KNOCK IT OFF!!
  18. I'll kill two birds with one stone. Here's me and Jay. This is Jay and I from last summer. We have nametags on so we don't forget who we are.
  19. I picked this up at the library today. I used my kids to disguise the fact that I was checking out a kids book for myself.
  20. I got the new Kraft Food and Family mag in the mail the other day. That recipe in there for meatloaf is the bomb. Oh, and so is cantaloupe... That's what I had for dinner.
