  1. I got 84 pages into A Tale of Two Cities and was bored. So I put that one down and picked up this one:
  2. We have: Seinfeld, except season 8 Arrested Development, all seasons out on DVD Sealab 2021, seasons 1&2 Dawson's Creek, season 1 (this one is mine) Curb Your Enthusiasm, seasons 1&2 The Office, season 2 Spongebob, season 1 The Simpson's, season 1 Malcolm in the Middle, season 1 Spiderman, the 1967 collection Full House, season 2 (my boys LOVE this show and I have no clue why) We are waiting patiently for more Malcolm in the Middle to be released. I'd like to pick up Home Improvement for the kids. I also want to get the rest of Dawson's Creek one of these days. Oh, and Scrubs to
  3. A Tale of Two Cities - Dickens
  4. My kids get $100 from me every time they get straight A's. They don't start letter grades until 4th grade. This will be my first year I have to worry about paying out. My parents did the same for me as a kid.
  5. The Grapes of Wrath. Lammy, just read it anyways. It's a quick read either way. If you end up thinking it's too girly, just don't tell anyone you read it
  6. I'm kind of on a kids book kick lately. I finished The Mysterious Benedict Society yesterday and read this one last night and finished it this morning: Now to find what book I'm going to read next.
  7. I loved that book too. I think I read it all in one sitting. I tend to get a little obsessive/compulsive when it comes to reading. I can turn the outside world off if I need to...
  8. Hi Jasmine! I was thinking about Wilca the other day and wondered where my button was that you guys sent me. I still have it somewhere...
  9. Jay just finished this one, so it's my turn.
  10. Don't worry Cryptique, we're not leaving Michigan either... Jason's parents have a cabin/cottage up north and we will be spending a week or so there. Also making day trips from there to the Leelanau Peninsula and to Mackinaw City.
  11. Just finished: Just started:
  12. I've only read 3 of the books you have listed, so I can only vote on those... First read Middlesex, then Of Mice and Men, and then Wuthering Heights.
  13. I remember watching Poltergeist when I was probably in 2nd grade. Scared the shit out of me. I'm really careful about scary movies with my kids though. My oldest has issues sleeping because of a scary movie his dad let him watch when he was about 4 or 5. He's 9 now and won't go to sleep if he's more than one room away from an adult and lights have to be on. He says it's because of the movie. My 5 year old loves scary stuff though and he knows that it's just pretend. He LOVES the Pirates of the Carribean movies, which aren't horror movies but are still a little creepy and spooky. Wh
  14. Homemade cranberry wine mixed with sprite. On the rocks.
  15. We don't have HD, but our tuner is the same as the cable box for our DVR. It's just one unit. It only has 2 tuners, so if you're recording 2 shows at the same time, you can't watch something else.
  16. Another thing about the E85 that I saw is that because it uses corn to make the ethanol, it causes the price of food to rise significantly since corn is a major ingredient in most processed foods and it's used as feed for animals. I can't remember where I heard this and I also don't know how much truth is in it either. So you either pay more for gas or you pay more for food...
  17. That's how it is where I live too except gas is about $3.59 for the cheap stuff. I stay home, but Jason has to drive 1/2 hour to get to work and if I want to get groceries or anything else for that matter, I have to drive to Ann Arbor or Adrian (Ick) which is 1/2 hour. I walk as much as I can in town, like to pick the kids up from school or to go to the post office. Sadly, there isn't much in the town I live in. Luckily, Jason drives a Honda Civic so he gets good gas mileage. I drive a shitty mini van because it's either that or an SUV to hold all the kids.
  18. My son really wants to see Evan Almighty. He loves Bruce Almighty. He's seen it enough that he can talk along with it. Kind of a pain to watch the movie with him though.
  19. Currently: cake decorating cloth diapers my kids photography garage sales My God, I'm super boring.
  20. Rachael Ray taught me not to be intimidated by Kale. It's good in hot German potato salad AND spaghetti...
  21. The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
  22. Water and a cranberry-maple walnut scone
  23. Welcome Grace Marie, born March 20th at 2:43 in the afternoon. 8 pounds, 1 ounce of baby girl!!
  24. I loved Kavalier & Clay. Jay and I picked up 2 books of his short stories today at a book sale. I'm only about 20 pages into Summerland, but so far it's pretty good. I'm hoping my son will like it too.
