  1. any chance i could get an invite. i have my computer on all the time so i can just leave the torrents open

Z149650@students.niu.edu is my email address in case anyone can help me out. thanks in advance and no biggie if you can't.

  2. this from an interview with neil young. i love how he answeres the question. everything about it is dead on in my opinion.

JO: What are your views on people going to college to learn guitar?

NY: Paints a pretty doomed picture of the future, doesn't it?[Laughs.] First of all, it doesn't matter if you can play a scale. It doesn't matter if your technique is good. If you have feelings that you want to get out through music, that's what matters. If you have the ability to express yourself and you feel good when you do it, then that's why you do it. The technical side of it is a completely boring drag, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, I can't play fast. I don't even know the scales. A lot of the notes that I go for are notes that I know aren't there. They're just not there, so you can hit any note. I'm just on another level as far as all that goes. I appreciate these guys who play great. I'm impressed by these metal bands with their scale guys. Like I go, "Gee, that's really something." I mean, Satriani and Eddie Van Halen are genious guitar players. They're unbelievable musicians of the highest caliber. But I can't relate to it. One note is enough.

  3. My memory is foggy on this, but I'm pretty sure they played the "album version" at the Poughkeepsie show at the beginning of the AGIB tour. After that, I couldn't tell ya.

FWIW, I still vastly prefer that song that way. :yes

they played it like the album at the auditorium theatre last year.

full band i definitely prefer it this way.

  4. Nothing from this tour, but I have 11-24-06 at the Auditorium in Chicago. If you want, let me know.

that's an awesome version. i love when the electric kicks in at the end. what a great show altogher actually. i was just listening to it today

  5. They had an early curfew. At the start of the first encore Jeff announced "we don't have nearly as much time left as we thought we did." This was before any fisticuffs. Not to say that the fight didn't put a bit of a damper on things at the end.

how does a band not know when curfew is?

i'm not complaining i mean it was an awesome show and i loved it, but it's kind of disapointing to find out that there were more songs on the setlist including poor places which is one of my favorites, that weren't played because of time issues

  6. They were supposed to play What Light, Heavy Metal Drummer, Poor Places, and one other I can't remember. Maybe it was California Stars.

that would be a shame. i'd hope that wilco isn't the type of band that would cut four songs because there was an idiot or two in the room

  7. Looks like one just went up on ebay.

    Ebay Listing

hey thanks a lot for the link pal :thumbup

unfortunately it looks like the bidding is a little over my budget. i'm willing to go like 25 on it, but anything over that is a bit hi. i was at the show so i just thought it'd be nice to have the poster. thanks again and if anyone sees another one pop up please post here.

...oh yeah, under two weeks till iowa :dancing

  8. I walked out of the show with enough money for cab fare home, knowing I'd regret not purchasing this poster. Does anyone know of a place or anyone that might have this and would be willing to sell it? I realy want to treat myself to this for my birthday.

wierd, i was just looking online for one, cause i'd like to have one too. if you find a website post it, cause i might order one too.

if i find one i'll let you know

  9. this was discussed in another thread previously but imo, the import is brighter and more in your face while the original vinyl is more laid back and the bass a little muddy, the cymbals more smeared. the original sounds like the cd and the new import is more lively and probably more what the original recording sounded like, warts and all. most of the time i prefer the new remaster but it can be a little shrill on my stereo which tends to highlight a bright sounding record. my two cents.

nice, thanks for the info. either way it was $16.99 new so i'm guessing that's not a bad deal. i wanted to pick up YHF but that was $30.99 and more than i felt like spending

  10. the import is not a gatefold and came with those nice paper and plastic audiophile record sleeves. the original pressing has paper sleeves but i can't remember if it's a gatefold. maybe someone else knows?

alright so in terms of sound quality, i don't want a gatefold? i haven't actually opened it yet

  11. Hey guys, i'm going to a record shop tomorrow to do some looking around and i remember the last time i was there they had YHF new for probably $20-$30. I'm just curious if they are still printing them or did the record shop just have a copy laying around?

basically i'm thinking about buying it if they still have it, but if it's something that's hard to come by these days then i'll definitely pick it up.

anyone else have wilco on vinyl? how's the sound

  12. if you're looking for consecutive albums, then your best bet it

sky blue sky, is to a ghost is born what after the goldrush is to everybody knows this is nowehere

    or, more logically

sky blue sky, is to a ghost is born what harvest moon is to ragged glory

  13. "What the world's got in store" was done on 1-14-06 if memory serves (which it just might not :lol)

this looks really cool, thanks a lot, i can't wait to listen and can't wait for the other albums!!
