  1. I'm sure you're right. They really should just play through the fireworks. I think it's about that time in their career - maybe a pyro-filled version of Jesus, etc?

fireworks during Spiders electric would be awesome! Or during the transition from Poor Places into Spiders haha.

Can't Wilco be more like Neil Young and open up a show with Spiders acoustic, and close it with Spiders electric? Same goes for Sunken Treasure, I think that'd be awesome!

  2. So with about an hour and change left, what's to come in this show?

    Shall we assume

    Heavy Metal Drummer

I'm the Man Who Loves You

    Jesus Etc.

    Whole Love

    Art of Almost

    Shot in the Arm

    Monday

    Outta Site

Not in that order obviously, but kind of wondering if any of those won't get played

  3. Very similar to the Missoula setlist already.... hmmm. I wonder if they will do sometime special because it's such a big crowd or stick to mostly hits and new songs?

I was thinking with such a large crowd it'd be pretty much a hits show. So far that's been the case

  4. So what's everyone's "one" wilco song that has eluded them live?

for me, it was poor places until last December!

    Sounds good for sure.

If the guys want to know a good way to ensure a crowd stays on its feet, this setlist is looking like a good template.

Exactly! Probably not my favorite songs, but definitely fun for that kind of venue

  5. Dawned on Me

    War on War

Nels is really owning this WXRT feed, which isn't a bad thing, always loving hearing the little intricacies he adds! Very "poppy" start by the band if you will. I'd expect it'd be a pretty upbeat evening being outdoors and to a larger crowd

Listening too. Just posted on other board. Let's continue here.

Awesome! Nothing like drinking a beer and listening to a Wilco Webcast. Wish I could have gone to the show, but couldn't spring the money

  6. Cool to see John there, but I could only get about a minute into that video. Not a fan at all of how that guy sang lead on Hey Joe.

    Nice find though!

  7. Yeah, same happened to me, specifically with the song Remember the Mountain Bed. That was kind of "our" song and the first Wilco show we went together they played that and it was pretty awesome. We've since broke up a few years ago, but hearing that song still reminds me of her. Which is a shame because it's a beatiful song but every time I hear those opening chords all I can think of is "bitch" haha.

  8. i loved At Dawn-Z. However, i just thing since Evil Urges the guy just dicks around with his talent. If he just sang songs in his range without the goofy lyrics i'd have a different opinion. you're right, jim james is asked to be in a lot of stuff, but that doesn't mean he's any good. it's really too bad, MMJ could've been a great band of the 00s and beyond, like Wilco. I'll be forever confused why M.Ward wanted to work with both oberst and yames.

i know i'll be lambasted for this response, but you asked, why jim? :headbonk

goofy lyrics? Sure he has some goofy type songs, but the majority are pretty serious. What are goofy? specifically from say circuital?

  9. I am not a huge fan of Pitchfork, but I don't think they can be blamed entirely for the seeming divergence of those ratings. It should be noted that the reviews are done by different people, so they really should be viewed as "one reviewer's opinion" as opposed to "Pitchfork's opinion."

that is true, but I definitely feel pitchfork has a certain agenda. newspapers tend to be slanted to the right or the left even though different people write the articles

  10. Putting myself in Tweedy's shoes, I can understand how it can be annoying to look out and see people looking DOWN at their cell phones. What I think he should understand is that the majority of the people that are there...are there for HIM! I turn my cell phone off because I want to enjoy the experience. If others at the show want to use their cell phones for their own concert experience, I think that is ok. It is policy, and I respect that. However, Mr. Tweedy needs to loosen up a bit and just realize that people pay their money to see them, to hear them in any way they see fit. Bob

right, but considering most of the people with cell phones out are video taping, that presents a problem since they don't allow video recording at shows.
