  1. Is Romney the first Presidential candidate in history to use swiss bank accounts to handle his tax obligations in the US?? If so should people know that? Does it matter? Should he be pissing and moaning about people taking welfare money if he isnt even paying his share?
  2. The federal budget surplus of 2000 quickly disappeared when Bush took office, turning into a sea of red ink. Bush borrowed heavily from the Social Security surplus to help obscure the fact that federal taxes were not bringing in enough revenue to pay for the wars and his tax cuts.
  3. that article is 100 percent fiction. SS has a 2.5 trillion dollar surplus and the idea that its full of "worthless IOUS" is completely insane. "The actual issues with the solvency of Social Security are extremely minor. The massive Social Security trust fund will allow the program to pay out benefits at the current level until 2038. At that point — absent modifications to the program — revenues will only be able to pay out 81 percent of promised benefits. That is to say, if the federal government did absolutely nothing over the next 27 years to shore up Social Security, a one time cut of 1
  4. Senator Bernie Sanders In the 77 years since President Franklin Roosevelt signed Social Security into law on August 14, 1935, the retirement program has been one of the nation's most successful anti-poverty programs. Before Social Security existed, about half of America's senior citizens lived in poverty. Today, less than 10 percent live in poverty. Today, Social Security not only provides retirement security but also enables millions of people with disabilities, and widows, widowers and children to live in dignity and security. In these highly volatile economic times, when millions of America
  5. this is a perfect chart. if you look SS was completely solvent when Dems were in control and as soon as Republicans took over they destroyed it. Sorry that its that partisan and cut and dry but thats just the TRUTH. We can make it good in no time with a few tweaks that noone will even notice. Again i ask you to remember Al Gores lockbox and all of the jokes around it. Either way things will be fine.
  6. I thought Conor was one of the best openers Ive seen for Wilco. John Doe in New Orleans was great but we were on the front row at Tipitanas of course
  7. jesus man are you fer realz? and as far as Dems using SS ummmmm do you remember 2000 when everyone joked a million times about Al Gores lockbox??? We left a SS surplus which republicans raided all to hell so im not sure if you meant republicans ummm hey folks. Social Security is completely solvent and always will be. I dont even know what yall are talking about?

  9. Sparky you need to look at history. Our debt is not gonna hurt us one damn bit. We can and WILL balance the budget in these next few years. Republicans will have to come to the table in some way after we win reelection. Democrats are the ones that write balanced budgets. We had to save the economy by spending more in 09 and we did. Things are fine and to think the "system" is going to collapse is absolute poppycock my friend. Youre being sold doo doo
  10. "when you realize the whole system is nothing but an illusion or for that matter a lie." who doesnt know that? but if thats true then why would the central bank conspirators let it happen?? couldnt they just make it not happen?? you should get the spotllight newspaper. plenty of bilderberg, tri lateral commission stuff in there. most of its really anti semitism in sheeps clothing.
  11. Its kinda based on this thing called History. Central bank collapse ideas have been around forever and its never happened. Every time they said collapse was inevitable and soon.
  12. Sparky the anti central bank folks have been preaching this same stuff for fifty years or more now. During the 90s it was a sure thing. Im pretty sure were gonna be fine and things are gonna get better.
  13. So Ryan wants to raise taxes on the middle class and cut the hell out of services so we can cut taxes further for the one percent?? I mean is this fer realz or some alernate universe?
  14. They want to raise taxes on the middle class and cut social programs so they can give further tax cuts to the top bracket. F THAT
  15. Do you think The President thinks that we have 57 states?? He MISSPOKE which is nothing like the diarrhea that came from President Bush and Palin's pie holes. hes obviously meant 47 contiguous states
  16. You actually put that on par with the gaffes from people like President Bush and Palin??
  17. The US Senate is an F*edup institution but its made that way so legislative change happens at a glacial pace. Probably a good thing
  18. I cant wait for the debates. Romney is playing the GW II game right now and not doing interviews etc so he can try and hide and run out the clock. Thing is that once the debates get going he wont be able to keep all of his much mouth BS straight. Hes gonna foul up somehow. He has contradicted himself 20 times easily. In public.

  20. The President presented Boehner with 3 trillion in cuts that Democrats did not want to make and all he had to do was get 1 trillion in new revenue from closing loopholes and 3 percent raise on millionares. Tea Party stopped it and now cry and cry how The President has failed to balance the budget. Boggles the mind really how people actually buy it. Oh. And he tried it 3 different times. We were willing to make the cuts to balance the budget.
