I should ask that one forum .... on LZ's last tour, why did John Paul Jones have a telephone on his keyboard???
no one seems to know. it was also there on the knebworth shows in 79.
maybe in case he wanted to order a pizza!

P.S. I made the Froggie dedication bit up. And knowing what 7 Down is.
must be another show you're confusing it with

I can't believe how many people are hating on In Through the Out Door. My god it has some of the most beautiful and unique Zeppelin tracks: I'm Gonna Crawl, Carouselambra, All My Love. I know it's uncool to enjoy ITTOD but I do. Is it Zep's best? No, but it's not terrible by any means.
eh, i love it too. the matter of it being uncool to like it is really stereotypical. even though most of their popular songs are the rockier guitar workouts, organs/pianos were in their songs all through their carrer.
without the synths, carouselambra could have been another achilles last stand... and i read they were rehearsing this one one for the tour that was to follow after europe 80

LZ are the one band I never get sick of, them and Sabbath. I really like all their stuff but if I had to pick a fave it would be Presence. Not only do I love the songs but I think that was Jimmy's guitar playing peak. That and I love the way he sounds playing a Strat. But I also like his playing on In Through The Out Door, minimalistic but very tasty. The album I almost never play is HOTH.
With all the live video stuff that's been coming out of the woodwork it's really got me back in to full time Zep mode again. I just love to watch Jimmy play. People can gripe all day about him being sloppy I just think it rocks.
Yeah I'm a fan boy.
i'm in the same boat with thr albums you mentioned above. there's something in the sound on HOTH that puts me off. however, presence has a great atmosphere to it - as does physical graffiti, which sounds totally different and was only one year earlier.
and yep, your username does hint that you're a zep fan

excuse the ignorance from someone who hasnt seen snow fall since 1986 (and that was barely enough to cover the ground), but how low would the temperature be to get a cover like that?

You and I should hold signs...."It's been since 2003!!"
_Robert.
just to hear jeff add more fuel to the silly banter thread by saying "you're fuckin here now" ?
-
hold up a sign and consider it done!
-
will jeff play DBoon at the next show?
-
why not???

here's some mp3s of that ones that i mentioned above...
jeff's a trader and his worst fear about this thread is now confirmed:

speaking of which, jeff is cock:

jeff's a commie 2003:

jeff's constipated:

wilco fans vs dead fans (during Ripple, 25/2/01):
-
i'm trying to remember which he said that at... might have been january 2003.
oh, there was another classic where he said he rushes to an internet straight after the show to see what people are saying about him
-
-
apart from Beyond the horizon, i think its
workingmans blues has one of his most melodic choruses
-
i've thought of it, but forget which show some of the classics come from. there was one show where jeff said he's scared that one day, a fan will make a compilation of "all the stupid shit i say between songs"
off the top of my head,
the constipation on jay leno show story (june 99)
audience smoking pot (jan 03)
people thinking jeff is a commie (jan 03)
cock (feb/mar 01)
there was a story about a promoter in germany (jun 02)
comparing grateful dead fans to wilco fans rant (25 feb 01)
fucking up the lyrics to At my window sad and lonely (oct 99)
forgot what show, but jeff said he doesnt like seeing the same faces in the front row every night cause even though he's touring, it makes him feel like he hasnt gone anywhere
