  1. Didn't that email from last week say Real Estate and Cibo Matto will only be playing for 20 minutes after Wilco? I have to guess they'll both be doing something else during the weekend, too. I'm hoping they'll also be openers on the nights they're playing afterwards.
  2. I ordered from this place a few years ago, and two of the records came with dinged up/bent sleeves. They didn't respond to my email when I complained. I won't do business with them again because of that. I hope your records arrive safely.
  3. I'm hoping this might mean they do a run through the northeast either the week before or the week after. I love fall shows at the Mann Center in Philadelphia and Merriweather Post Pavilion. It's been five years since they've played a full-length/non-festival set in Philadelphia, and they haven't played at Merriweather for a few years, either.
  4. I would say try to do the last hour or so of the trip during daylight. All the roads leading to North Adams are curvy and remote, so driving them for the first time at night wouldn't be too fun. I came in one year after dark and felt pretty creeped out! You might aim to drive to, say, Albany or Poughkeepsie on Thursday, get a cheap hotel somewhere, and then finish the drive on Friday so you can get into North Adams with a little time to explore before the festival starts.
  5. After Neko Case and Yo La Tengo last time, I was also expecting a few slightly bigger acts. Not big enough to outshine Wilco, of course. Father John Misty didn't seem impossible because Fleet Foxes opened for Wilco awhile back, and I can't believe Deerhoof hasn't played a SSF yet, because they're one of Nels' favorite bands. There are a lot of names I recognize and would enjoy checking out, and it will be nice to see Cibo Matto again, but I can't even figure out who will open for Wilco. These are all bands I can envision playing the courtyards. I really wish they would announce the rest of
  6. I can't believe I didn't think of that! I was thinking it would be the Singers. It will be good to see them again if we end up going.
  7. I hope they're not counting Cibo Matto as Nels' side project. He does play with them, but it's not his music. I'm stumped what else it could be, since they're past M, N, and P.
  8. K being for Kim Gordon would be the best thing ever, whether it was music or an art installation or a reading from her new book. But it's not. Oh well. I can keep dreaming of that Nels/Kim collaboration.
  9. So apparently they're doing some sort of online trivia thing tomorrow night to reveal the lineup: https://www.facebook.com/events/377982089050842
  10. I just booked a room at the Bennington Motor Inn through Priceline for $120/night. It's free to cancel until June 21, and we don't pay until we get there. I'm hoping we can find something closer and a little nicer, but I wanted to get something booked before the lineup is announced. I think there might be a room or two left.
  11. We'll be in section 224, row 19. They were the $118 tickets. I pulled up row 2 in section 210 and they were the $300 tickets. When I threw them back, I didn't expect to actually get through again, let alone to pull up decent seats. I wish we were a few rows closer, but we should still have an okay view.
  12. I'm not sure. I just checked the Ticketmaster page hoping to find a seating chart. There wasn't one this morning, but there is now. I'm guessing most of the yellow will be the $280 + fees. I remember the Red Zone tickets being sold separately last time. That's an interesting stage setup.
  13. New York tickets come out to $312 including Ticketmaster fees.
  14. I'm expecting they'll put out Songs of Experience next fall and do a second U.S. leg in early 2016, hitting places like DC and Philadelphia that they're skipping this time. I should probably start saving for that now.
  15. $312.40 for the best seats. Apiece. I'm waiting for the announcement that they've changed their name to U$. I would really like to see them one more time and be close, but that's nuts. For what it's worth, I read somewhere yesterday that LA and New York will have 8 shows apiece.
  16. As far as I can tell, that N.C. Singers show in New Haven got cancelled. It's no longer on the venue website, and it's also not on Nels or Scott Amendola's websites. The Singers show tomorrow night in Washington DC is sold out, but they expect to release some tickets right before doors open. I had a hunch Nels wouldn't miss the chance to share a bill with Deerhoof! I wish I could make it, but at least we get to see the Singers tomorrow night.
  17. Nels and Julian Lage are doing a small tour leading up to their album release November 25: 11/18: Baltimore, MD - Patterson Theatre 11/20: Albany, NY - The Egg 11/21: Burlington, VT - The First Unitarian Church 11/22: Portland, ME - Space 11/25: New York, NY - Subculture
  18. The Nels Cline Singers are playing at Firehouse 12 in New Haven, CT, on November 7. There are sets at 8 and 10 (the early is $20, and the late is $15): http://firehouse12.com/performance_space_calendar.asp Cyro Baptista will play with the Singers at the Rough Trade show but not the New Haven or DC shows because he'll be doing a residency in New York then.
  19. There was likely a venue presale. I think the local promoter in Northampton might not limit how many tickets are available for presale. I vaguely remember that being an issue when Jeff played there last time, in 2009, I think? I remember buying a ticket separate from my friends because they were still deciding how many people wanted to go and I was worried I'd miss out on a decent seat.
  20. I got a second row dead center pit seat for Philadelphia! That's the best seat I've ever gotten in a presale.
  21. The special guest for the first set tonight is John Scofield. I'm expecting it to be a slightly more straightforward Singers set than usual, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what Scofield adds. Be warned: they turn the AC off before the performance starts, and they also pack the room, allowing people to sit on the floor once the seats are full. I sweat more during the first set last night than I normally do at the gym! Bring water!
  22. It figures Jeff finally comes to Ithaca, to the venue a five-minute walk from where I used to live, two years after I moved four hours away.
  23. My guess is Yoko Ono, but I hope it's not. I could also see it being John Medeski on keyboards. Marc Ribot could be possible, or maybe Lee Ranaldo. I doubt the Singers is the right group for it, but I've been dreaming of a Kim Gordon/Nels collaboration for years.
