  1. Then I guess both of our predictions came true!
  2. Makes popcorn, waits for delusional people to come back and express outrage, dissatsifaction, or how these changes validate their perspective.
  3. Dear Wilco, Please contact Livenation. Some jackass wants a refund. Sincerely, the internet
  4. I have conversations with my kids about equality and tolerance. You seem to have different kinds of conversations with your kids. My kids would be sad but would understand, and continue to see Jeff in a positive light, proud that he stood up for the rights of our family members. Good luck with your kids.
  5. Good old media and liberals, distorting things conservatives say by quoting them directly with context: http://web.archive.org/web/20010519165033fw_/http://cybertext.net/pence/issues.html The Pence Agenda for the 107th Congress: • Congress should oppose any effort to put gay and lesbian relationships on an equal legal status with heterosexual marriage. • Congress should oppose any effort to recognize homosexual’s as a "discreet and insular minority" entitled to the protection of anti-discrimination laws similar to those extended to women and ethnic minorities. • Congress should support t
  6. I thought it was pretty clever. This is the internet. Lighten up, nerd.
  7. The financial impact is hard to calculate, but probably not significant. It has brought some attention to the issue, but again hard to calculate what the political impact will be. But it seems Wilco did not feel comfortable playing in Indiana, as it would compromise their moral convictions, which is kinda what this is all about, right? Sorry Hoosiers, as retarded as you are, you are still not a protected class of citizens. Fuck off.
  8. You are right in deciding this was your fault. Issues.
  9. Seems the law as previously enacted in other states was intended to protect religious minorities, such as Native Americans who use peyote. That is a good thing. But in Indiana it certainly seems they passed it to allow Christians to discriminate against gays, as supporters of the law have actually said it will do. And Pence has done nothing to disavow this notion. Here is a pretty good explanation: http://t.co/2fqxqpBW7D
  10. Wilco is officially the first Two Dad Rock band. Somebody had to do it.
  11. Bummer for anyone who was planning to go. But bravo to Wilco. And Mike Pence is fucking scum.
  12. LA Forum for me. Saturday night in Inglewood, pre-party at the horse track next door. Might make the trip to Alpine. Will Phish finally bust out some Dead tunes this tour? Fire on the Mtn at Alpine would be epcot.
  13. We now have the answer to what was in that briefcase in Pulp Fiction.
  14. I'm about half way through the Muscle Shoals doc, and my main issue is Bono. What is his connection to the place and the music? I can understand why Mick and Keith are interviewed - they recorded there and were influenced by the music of that era. But Bono's info is all second hand, he loves to hear himself talk, and just wants to attach himself to everything great. I thought he claimed to be a punk rocker? What a doofus.
  15. Unless they invent a time machine and transport me back to the acid tests, I will be outraged at whatever the Dead do.
  16. Beware of Mr. Baker is about Ginger Baker. Really great doc. Amazed he's still alive. Makes Keith Richards look like an impostor.
  17. Yeah, it's not really obvious until they start the fade out and it's just the music to the Other One. Stephen Perkin's brother was a big Deadhead, and some of the guys in Jane's were fans to some extent.
  18. Jane's cover is pretty amazing. Took me a few years to figure out it was the music to the Other One with Ripple's lyrics.
  19. Doubt they'll do any Phish, not appropriate. How about a Jeff Chimenti deep cut? Hope they just play the classics. At the Alpine Valley reunion shows they threw in a few curveballs - newer tunes by Mickey and Bob. I'd estimate that there are about 90 great songs that need to be played, so a few good ones will probably be left out.
  20. I like Way to Go Home and Eternity, but probably not too high on the list of tunes to play at these shows. How about a Dark Star> Gamehendge> Terrapin?
  21. High-larious! Anyone else think the music to Brokedown sounds a lot like Masterpiece?
  22. I guess I feel sorry for some of those people too, but it's hard to be sympathetic when they're acting like deluded and entitled babies. I hope they troll these people, open with Money, Money, and then play a bunch of Phish tunes.
  23. I think the ticketmaster monopoly on selling concert tickets has been firmly established as a reality of the concert industry that there is no way of getting around. It sucks, but what rock have some of these people been hiding under for the past 30 years? Let's just magically break all sorts of contracts and keep all the tickets for true Deadheads. YEA!
  24. Hoping for a San Diego show. LA midweek is tough.
  25. I know several people who are Deadheads that got their tickets via the Bears pre-sale. Close friend's father in law has season tix, and he was able to score 6 floor for each night. Offered me some, but it's too much for me too pull off, prefer to watch at home. There are a lot of Bears fans who are also Deadheads, both fanbases party their faces off. Some will be resold, but I think the majority of season ticket holders know some Deadhead that is dying to get tix and is going to hook them up. Season ticket holders may have had an advantage in getting tix - some were shut out of that too - but
