  1. I wonder if they are going to play this at Pitchfork.  I guess we will find out.

It was mentioend in the Pitchfork fest thread that they will. I'm pretty sure that's there reasoning for releasing the album. Nice way to build up excitement for their show.

  2. i've listened to the record 6 times now...think it;s time to call it a night. I'll have sweet Wilco dreams tonight.

Album is fantastic, and everything I wanted from a new album. Unique and adventurous. I knew these guys still had it in them.

  3. I have submitted my yahoo address several times (since it we announced) and still haven't received a link.

Then did my wife's gmail address and it came up in 5

    Minutes

  4. So my perception of the art and the name of the album is that they released the album on social media. What are the biggest things on Facebook? Cat videos and Star Wars trailers. The force awakens is the number one viewed trailer of all time.

That's just a hunch though. I could be way off

  5. I want a vinyl with an added wax of besides! kinda how Radiohead has done these releases

I gotta say, I really didn't enjoy the first half that much. The second half of the album has won me over enough that I'll be listening to it over and over again. I'm a little disappointed that some of Tweedy's vocals feel a little buried on this record. And there's nothing wrong with electric guitar, but there's A LOT of it on this record. This one is definitely going to have to grow on me (but I have a feeling it might). Also, just got to Magnetized. Hell yes. I love it. Favorite track for sure. It's very pretty. I love the chromatic walk down in the vocals, it adds just the right amount of tension.

  6. I truly enjoyed much of the music on the past couple albums. My only complaint was that both felt like a wee collection of songs with no over-arching theme. Maybe I'm too old, but I still like an album to have a theme that seems to run through it - the tension of AGIB, the pop flares of Summerteeth, the mellow and friendly vibe of SBS.

This album seems to be a return to that form. While I can't put my finger on it, after one listed there seems to be a vibe that sticks throughout. I love that.

I completely agree, concept records , or albums when one general theme/sound are typically my favorite. This seems like their most thematic record since Sky Blue Sky for sure
