  1. Since it looks like you are an Asheville local, you may be a good source for food/beer recommendations. Every time I've been to a show in Asheville, I've always tried to make it to Barley's.. Gotta love the 24 taps..
  2. Very awesome indeed. I actually have a song in G and for the chorus, it modulates to G#. It actually sounds pretty cool, so maybe it would be possible to have a song in C# Minor, then F, C, G..
  3. Even when the song is in C Sharp Minor?
  4. Congrats. And welcome to the message board.
  5. I would assume there will be, but it just depends on the venue. Just keep checking the wilco site.
  6. Edit: Nevermind.. Call me paranoid, but It's probably not very wise to post seat numbers on a public message board.
  7. Keep trying. Just snagged OC row G. Not bad.
  8. Wow, already: "At this moment there are not enough tickets available to fulfill your request. Please try again using a lower quantity of tickets or choosing a different ticket type. Currently there are not enough Reserved tickets to fulfill your request."
  9. Yeah, that's misleading isn't it! I assume that means Eastern, but I guess we'll find out. Wait, just found this: "all on sale times begin are based on the local time in which the venue is located unless otherwise noted. "
  10. Well, the presale for many of these shows starts in 30 minutes. Let the pre-sale madness begin! I've tried pre-sale twice and was unsuccessful both times. BUT I ended up still getting great seats through ticketbastard. We'll see.
  11. Sounds like it's not the best venue, but to me the big thing is crowd behavior. After seeing Wilco in Charlotte, and then in Charleston, there was a huge difference. Everyone in Charlotte was very bahaved and seemed to be having the time of their lives. Charleston; there were people talking during the show, drunk idiots harrassing the band, and the over all vibe was just kind of negative until about the last 4 songs or so. From my experience, Asheville is a great town for music. And again, everyone seems to be down to earth and respectful to the band at any concert I've ever been to ther
  12. Giant basement with no seats? Are you sure it was the Classic Center in Athens Ga where you saw them? Regardless of the bad things I've heard about the Wolfe in Asheville, I think I'll take my chances.. Maybe the show will be reserved seating or I can try for a balcony seat. Asheville is just a great city for music. Any concert I've ever attended in Asheville, the audience was always very well behaved. A lot of friendly hippie folks in the area that are used to great bands coming to town.
  13. Hey, isn't Athens Georgie about the same distance for you? The Classic Center looks nice.
  14. Oh the wife and I are so there. C'mon, it'll be another chance to grab a beer with us. Whats wrong with the Thomas Wolfe?
  15. Yep, I'm starting to agree. Someone should help ol' JP before it's too late... Or am I being fooled by his act?? We may never know...
  16. Yeah, it's been said that slavery wasn't the single cause of the war, but if it weren't for slavery, the war never would have happened.. But if you asked many confederates what they were fighting for, they were fighting against an enemy invader. After Ft. Sumter, Lincoln called on 75,000 troops to use force to bring the South back to the Union. The South was basically defending themselves, that's why it came to a shooting war.. But I guess that's it. The South fired first on the Union occupied Ft. Sumter.. And Lincoln said "oh no you didn't..."
  17. Thanks for posting John Smith. Interesting stuff there.. It does appear that regardless of whether people in the South supported slavery or not, the Confederacy argued that it should be up to each state on whether they decide it should be legal or not. Again, it was all about states rights.
  18. Yeah, finally watched it last night. It's so short, you don't want it to end..
  19. Good points, but think about all of the other celebrities that no one stepped up and helped before they became complete train wrecks. Brittany Spears, Amy Winehouse, to name a couple..
  20. Yes, but I don't think he was acting like it in that video. But hey, that's my opinion.
  21. Did you watch the video I posted though? Wow... That's a guy on something...
  22. Ok, after seeing this video, I'm starting to think that maybe it isn't an act.. Maybe he is really on drugs and/or completely messed up in the head.....
  23. What if it's an act of an act... He's making people believe that it's just an act, when it's really just him acting like he's acting like it's an act?
  24. True.. I was just calling it the "slavery card" because from a strategic point of view, that's exactly what it was.. I'm not trying to trivialize slavery at all. The simple fact that Lincoln did free the slaves is worth the Union winning the war by itself, and at the same time it was a brilliant War strategy.
