    A Cherry Ghost
  1. Here are some restaurant tips. The street that the cap is on is westchester ave. if you walk under the train and cross the first street, the second street is main street-turn left and lots of places. Maryanns. Main street. Somewhat upscale very authentic mexican. Coals. Close to maryanns. Thin crust pizza, wings, salads, salads, great craft beer. The q. Across street from coals. Solid bbq. Service can be a bit slow. Plenty of small cheap local places with mexican and other ethnic food thruout town. And the cap really has excellent beer at all bars, the main bar on the street entranceis called
  2. Just go to the cap web site and you will find floor tixs available for all shows this week! for those who have never been there, you are in for a real treat. Floor slopes up for kind views, and is carpeted too! Lots of good places to eat and drink pre-show in Port Chester too. Coals has great pizza and unique craft beer list. Maryanns is upscale, authentic mexican food. Lots of cheap eats too. I heard the new beer garden is nice too. Sam L
  3. Looks like tixs still available for 10-30 show at capitol theatre. Just a heads up that that is an AMAZING venue. Capacity around 1600--sound is pristine--floor slopes up and is carpeted. Nice selection of craft beers at all bars. A really nice free standing bar attached to theatre called garcia's--actually partially owned by jerry's daughter. Venue run by peter shapiro--lock'n, brooklyn bowl. You can even order drinks from your seats! I prefer the balcony but really not a bad place to be. The town of port chester is enjoying a revival--new beer garden just opened--plenty of places to eat from
  4. nyc taper has the show up on his site for download http://www.nyctaper.com/ Sam L.
  5. Excellent show. Much different crowd than last nite--which I think musically was a bit better. No complaints--can't wait for Wilco or Tweedy solo back in NYC. And the rain really wasn't that bad. Great idea to start a bit earlier. WIlco Friday, September 23, 2011 Rumsey Playfield – Central Park New York, NY Set: One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley’s Boyfriend), Art of Almost, I Might, Poor Places, Bull Black Nova, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, Pot Kettle Black, Impossible Germany, Black Moon, California Stars, Born Alone, Handshake Drugs, Heavy Metal Drummer, Whole Love, Standing O
  6. Loved the show..nice mix of the new album--love it!, plus the usual "singalongs" and plenty of older gems. Was that tweedy's son dancin' on stage? And except for the lines at vending, I really enjoyed the venue tonight. And no rain! Back tomorrow for round 2. For those going, Wilco on about 7:50, played a little over 1.5 hours, then back for an extended encore. Total show 2-2.25 hours I'd say. 25 songs! Sam L
  7. This is just a guess, based on other shows I've seen at the venue. Nick Lowe comes on around 6-6:15..plays till 7-7:15, Wilco on at 7:45-8, plays till 10 or a little after. Curfew is 10:30 For those who haven't been there, the "floor"area up front is mostly concrete, so at least you won't be in the mud Vending is marginal at best. No real bars close by. A few bars on the upper west side on the other side of the park, (Dive 75--75th/Columbus or Amsterdam Ale House-76th and Amsterdam), then a short cab ride or bus from 72nd thru the park to 69th and 5th avenue. Sam L.
  8. I'll take $40 if anyone is interested..hate to see the tix go to waste I can't believe so many peeps are bailing due to a little rain! Sam L.
  9. Shoot me an e.mail if you're interested ($50) adsforsam@yahoo.com I live in the city and will be at both shows. Sam L.
  10. Have one for Friday if you are still lookin'. I live on the upper west, and will be at Thursday's show. Email me at adsforsam@yahoo.com if you're interested. Sam L.
  11. Extras gone..found someone here to trade with me. IMPG..if you don't find Thursday tixs, you can still go and sit right outside the venue in Central Park and hear the music quite well. I'm not a huge fan of this venue and usually sit outside so I can bring my own food, beer, etc. Sam L.
  12. I have an extra pair for Thursday show--lookin to trade for a pair to Friday's show..so if you get an extra pair when tixs go on sale and want to trade, shoot me an e.mail at adsforsam@yahoo.com Sam L.
  13. Thank you Wilco for 2 nites of great music at a fabulous venue! I enjoyed last nite, but definitely give the nod to Friday's show. Last nite I thought it took them a little longer to get rolling, and the energy level not quite up to Friday, but getting all those songs from Summerteeth was a real treat. Sam L.

    Set Lists

"They are also going to be drawing from all seven of their albums and varying the sets every night." I distinctly remember that in promoting this tour, the reports were similar to the above--so I got the impression that the setlists would be more varied than usual--kind of like an extended version of the 5 nite residency they did a few years back. So far, this has not been the case, especially with the first third of the show. It will be interesting to see if the Montclair set lists are more varied, since it's 2 nites at one venue. Never seen Wilco on back to back nites, so I'm really exci
  15. I am gong to see them consecutive nights in Montclair, NJ next weekend and I'm afraid they're going to be doing basically the same setlist both nights. Hopefully with 2 nites at same venue, setlist will be more varied. With so many great Wilco songs, don't want to hear too many of the same ones on back to back nites! I'll be in Montclair both nites too! Sam L.
