garage sales and family-run estate sales are where it's at. There is a tremendous amount of legwork involved, but I would say that it pays off in the long run. The key is to be the first to go through the pile - that and some knowledge of label variations. Yes, Ebay has spawned a more inflated value phenomena and I reserve purchases there for the cream of the crop. (and quite rarely, unless you wanna go broke compiling a great vinyl collection)

Lou, since yer an ol' hound dog like me, could you keep an eye out for a nice 1st ed Stooges (ST) Red label? (or did it come in brown?) I'm afraid Amarillo is a barren wasteland for punk selections.

'63 for me. Having brothers that were 9, 11 and 13 yrs old when I was born allowed me to subconsiously absorb all that was played at my house. I can't tell you what it is, but I have a different feeling when I play British Invasion lps compared to a polished CD copy. While a younger audiophile might scoff at my collection of mid-to-late 60s mono releases, I take comfort in knowing that it is something they simply cannot comprehend......... Am I fooling myself? I'm not saying vinyl is better than digital, but in some cases, at least for me it is.

As you can tell by the fishook cap accessory, he's an outdoorsman. Seriously, there is a lot of emotion floating around my house the last few days. Mrs Stooka (mother of the bride-to-be) is in what could be described as Hog Heaven (96% Dixie)! We are all quite happy this moment has finally come and look forward to next spring when we can celebrate another stage in this wonderful life we live. BTW.....We're considering using this lady to plan it.

I didn't know Sentimental Lady had been done 5 years before it was a big hit for Welch in '77.

Yes, she's our only child. They've been down for a two-week visit from Ohio, enjoying some of the Texas heat! Going back tomorrow. We have really enjoyed their company. (I'll send you a funny pic.) As for a dowry, does eliminating all credit card debt count?

She'll make you believe that bullets can curve! That was one good movie. James McAvoy really steals the show from Freeman and Jolie (They weren't bad, he was just better). From the beginning, it was easy to relate to Wesley and although the stunts seemed ridiculous at times, I was so thoroughly entertained that I just didn't care.

Obviously, I'm raggin' on the pumpkins....NOT Prince. Sorry, i had to get that out. Carry on..................
