I'm in NW CT. My husband and his buddies have an annual thing going for the residency. From what i've heard its a real testosterone fest. Beer drinking, farting, etc. Although I do like the ABB, his friends are convinced women can't be "real" fans, therefore, no girls. Totally feeds into my "abandonment issues." Poppydawn, I took a beaded ruffled cuff class last night at my LYS, AWESOME! For a different forum, I suppose.

My kids have a snow day here in CT, although calling whatever shit this is falling from the sky snow is a stretch. It looks like my daughter is over her fever so that is a plus. So today they will be spending some quality time in front of the tv, I am planning to knit. Yes, I am mom of the year. I will make myself feel better by enforcing a PBS only rule. My husband is being extra-nice because he is angling to do 2 nights of the Allmann Bros. residency in NYC in May. Guys only. I am also thinking of ways to capitalize on that. Girls night tonight is a start.

Now I feel like I need to wash my hands.

I'm in for whatever, just let me know where. We are heading down early because my friend wants to stop at Ikea.

I saw this on an online catalog. Serged. Awesome and easy. I wish I had one.

It stands for everything I hate, and I hate myself for it, but I will watch the audition episodes. The only reality show I watch is Amazing Race. This writers strike is killing me.

I don't know, latch hook has that little sharp thing that moves back and forth. You can try Aquadots! Or attaching little pompoms to foam shapes using a glue stick! Yes, I think that one is for us! There must me forum somewhere we can join!

May you burn in hell, poppydawn, for introducing me to Ravelry. Now, my house is a mess, no dinner made, no knitting done, but a million project ideas!

I love the nostalgic stories thread! My first time seeing the Grateful Dead was Nov 1985 in Rochester, NY. Sold out, but an old hippie looked kindly on us and let us pay $35 for 2 tickets, had a blast. I was 15. My parents let me go with my older boyfriend of 3 months. It all worked out, I eventually married him, but I'm pretty sure I won't let my daughter do that. I remember a great show, the one that gave me a lifelong love affair with "Deal." I remember my idiot brother in law crashing gates in 87 or so even though he had a ticket. Dick. I remember flying out of Albuquerque in th

On a related note, you can go to www.timessquarenyc.org and write a wish for the new year. They will print it up as a piece of confetti that will come down at Times Square on the new year.

OK, I did that. Maybe by the time I get brought in, I'll have that skull hat done!

I'd like to join, but it looks like I need an invite?

It wasn't sold out-a lot of people bought them there. The line was the same for will call and purchasing, so it went on forever, and only one window for both. Cold too. But, it rocked.

Saw Robert Randolf, North Miss. Allstars, and John Medeski together again last night. Great show, they played for about 1 1/2 hour, then we left because our friends kid was sick. The house lights were on so I don't know if there was an encore. Robert Randolf is awesome.

That would be the esteemed Hotel Moore in Barneveld, NY. Are you really that big of an REO Speedwagon fan? -

Lucky you! I'll be downing Utica Clubs (in a bottle-fancy!) at the nastiest dive bar in upstate NY. Only REO Speedwagon and Foreigner on the jukebox, tomorrow I'll wake up with a headache and my hair smelling of chickenwings and fish fry. At least I will have spent only few dollars, and that will include buying rounds for friends! -
Thanks Reni! I'm a little confused about the provisional cast on and liner, but I'll figure it out. My son will love this!

Reni, Where, oh where can I find that pattern for the skull cap? PS, my local yarn store lady told me to carry the yarn really loosely when switching colors. No pulls or puckers yet!

The Beers I Must Drink Before I Die Thread
RaspberryJam replied to Gobias Industries's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
This thread makes me thirsty. Made since the 1880's by the same brewery that brings you Saranac and Brooklyn Lager (also excellent as well). Anyone who says they hate UC either doesn't like real beers or has had it not fresh. 10 points for anyone who knows the lyrics to the UC song! I'll even start you off: OOOOHHHHH, brew me no beer, with artificial bubbles, No artificial bubbles today! -
I'll go along with that.

I posted this on another thread, but it is relevant to this one: OK, I KNOW I'm inviting the wrath of the rock gods AND showing my age here. But I can't help myself. I've seen 25+ Greatful Dead shows, and I have to say, I've enjoyed every single Wilco concert more. Let me explain myself. With the Grateful Dead, I got into it late in the game, my first show was in 1985. All of the shows were in big auditoriums then and only got bigger-arena shows. Then, it was a crapshoot whether the concert was going to be good or not. Expectations were high, we had all heard "epic" concert bootlegs, an
