I had no problem getting on DIME this morning. Just hit refresh a couple of times and it pops right up. I imagine they have a lot of disabled users going out all day.
yes! you just have to be persistent. i think it's a 10-minute cycle or 15-minute cycle that automatically purges accounts that have dropped below a certain ratio or have been inactive for a certain period of time. so just hit reload enough and you will get in sooner or later.
and it is an absolute storehouse of amazing live shows. i'm on my third 500 gb external hard drive and going strong (with the odd show from other trackers, including etree, hungercity, shnflac and tradersden)
and, yeah, this is a tremendous recording + great show, so thanks to the upper
and tons of seeders so a very quick dl

am i the only one who doesn't get this band?
i saw 'em live once and although they had a lot of energy, the songs were lacking and all came at you at the same tempo and volume
i didn't bother with Z but the earlier records didn't do much for me either
but, man, people rave about these guys
so maybe it's me
-
i've tried hard to like nels and i feel like i should, but i can't
just don't dig his style
obviously a talented guy
that said ... haven't seen wilco live with nels
-
Considering the two list above don't include a single track off Muswell Hillbillies, I'm having a hard time taking them seriously.
here's an idea
when you make your list, you put your favorite songs on it
when i make my list, i'll put my favorite songs on it
oklahoma usa, complicated life, holiday and alcohol are four favorites from muswell hillbillies, but you know what? they're not in my top 20
if you think that makes my taste less valid than yours, i have a hard time taking anything you say seriously

was wondering if jeff got the phrase "sky blue sky" from the Guided By Voices song Johnny Appleseed, off the Clown Prince of the Menthol Trailer EP
the first couplet:
You fly like a fly
In a sky blue sky

yank the shows from dime & they'll just show up at the traders den or eztree
yank them from there & they'll show up on piratebay or somewhere else
van can try to stop people from sharing his live music, but it's a battle that's impossible to win
-
Uh huh.
what's your point? you really think i'd lie about ticket prices?
i got 'em the day of the show from a broker after the price plummeted.
geeze

SNL!
in Just A Fan
tremendous stuff

I just decided to have a little fun with this, so I stated it clearly that it is an IMAGINARY interview and made it OVERLY obvious throughout that it was completely not real. Hopefully it comes off as amusing as I think it does.
Please to enjoy: My FAKE interview with Jeff Tweedy about the band's appearance on Saturday Night Live tonight
sorry, but that is incredibly not funny
-
I guess it would be even worse to be the parent of a 'tween-aged Hannah Montana fan (NPR said people were re-selling those tickets for $2000 a pop!), but still, this fan is sad that it's getting so hard to get in to shows.
don't be so sure
i got my wife and daughter 15th-row tickets for hannah montana in philly for $400. great seats.
never dreamed i'd have trouble getting wilco tickets. i guess i missed the memo that they're popular. never did get a ticket for philly, but if bought one it would have been more expensive than hannah
wtf
hell, i saw wilco at the TLA in 1994 for $12
just weird
-
Kind of off topic, but here is a video of Winona on SNL from 2002 wearing a Wilco shirt!
she was scheduled to wear a Charleston shirt, but she changed her mind at the last minute

so etree has the 1972 project going & i'm on download five of eight
each one is about 16 gb and they're all fairly well seeded, so they're going along fairly quickly (30 kB/s or so)
etree = ratio free, too (although i seed 'em all to at least 1.0 before i move 'em to my hard drive)
thank god for cheap external hard drives!
i had about 30 1972 shows but now i'll have 'em all in one place, some with soundboard and audience versions
i'm a big 1972, 1973 and 1977 guy, so this is very cool

this message board reminds you of when john lennon said the beatles were bigger than jesus ...
dude
you lost me

my least favorite wilco or tweedy-related release
just find it boring
-
i heard a muzak version of Everchanging Moods by Style Council at a Walgreen's a month ago or so
it rocked
-
I'm going to see them on March 5 and wanted to know how they've been on this tour.
How's Shane been?
Do they bring the rock?
What's the setlist like?
Any other Chicagoans gonna be there on the 5th?
i'm gonna see 'em later in march + can't wait
haven't heard a thing about these shows, but i did hear that james walbourne is playing guitar, which is fantastic. he's toured with son volt and pernice brothers and is one of the most talented players i've ever seen
sadly, philip chevron is very ill
-
pretty shitty for ya'all to go around threatening to ban people who are criticizing Wilco for what to me seems like a really crappy thing to do
i think Sky Blue Sky is achingly dull and Nels Cline's hallowed guitar solo in Impossible Germany is impossibly boring.
ban me
p.s. -- i go back with tweedy to uncle tupelo, who i saw 14 years ago last week, and wilco, who i saw at the Mercury in december 1994, so now don't start questioning my credentials. i was digging wilco before most of the kool-aid drinking hipsters on here had stashed their counting crows albums in the basement

"looking for a way out," is about as good as it gets for me.
simply one of the greatest songs ever written
-
I'm sure he's as sick of people yelling "tear stained eye," as Jefff is "Gun," but damn if I don't love that song.
i've never heard a ton of that, mainly because he's always played tear-stained eye, so people don't need to bark out for it
my experience is that whiskey bottle and still be around get called out the most at jay shows. unless i'm there, and then it's looking for a way out
-
hoboken was indeed fantastic. i've never heard jay sound better. spencer was dazzling. terrific setlist. great night.

i dug 'em but lost interest after Bob Wiseman left the band
which was a while ago
Rain down on me + Till I am Myself Again = great songs
