  1. This says it got the coveted Grey's time slot due to the strike, weak Thursday competition, and a need to avoid American Idol (virtually the only show not clipped by the writers strike.)
  2. Happyyyyyyyyyy birthdaaaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!!
  3. New promotion for the Thursday time slot!
  4. I can't keep track of the chronology of rumors anymore, but I do remember the 2009 thing being an option at some point.
  5. Yeah the Skokie/etc one is definitely too far away. North Michigan is your best bet, or these other hotels that people are offering (I second the Days Inn in terms of location, don't know where the other one is that's been recommended.)
  6. The trailer in that feature gives me chills every time I watch it. I'm so excited about the show coming back but also so bummed that if the writers strike doesn't wrap up in the next couple weeks, there's no hope of us getting more than the 8 episodes they've already got.
  7. Bobfrombob: In terms of distance to the Vic, your maps are posted in order of proximity. That first map you posted is the Water Tower area. If you pull up Chicago & Michigan Ave on a google map, it'll give you an idea of where that is in relation to the Vic (which is Belmont & Sheffield.) The red line is right there, as are several bus routes, and the brown line is a few blocks away. And of course cabs. Assuming you can get cabs in any of these places and don't need advice based on that (because you can,) I'll give you the CTA run-down: being around that first map area would put you ab
  8. All of the best movies have The Kinks in their soundtracks.
  9. Even Old Style tastes good at Wrigley. Unless it's been mixed with your tears, as happens at so many Cubs games...
  10. My best friend is from Holland! Michigan unites everyone, I swear.
  11. 200 billion stars in our spiral arm of the galaxy, or whatever they said on that episode of The Universe (I was busy crying at the enormity, remember)... freaks me out. Talk about feeling like this:
  12. Sure, give me another reason to want to speed up my five-year plan to move to Michigan... are they doing brewery tours again? They weren't for awhile because of remodeling or something. History fact of the day: PBR won its BR at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition right here in sweet home Chicago (says the girl who just said she wants to move to Michigan.) Another good summer beer: Three Floyds Gumballhead
  13. Loved it! Just friended your band on myspace...
  14. I've heard Brian Greene's The Fabric of the Cosmos is fantastic, and slightly easier for a general audience to handle.
  15. I saw that episode and had a mild freak out, almost cried at the enormity of it all. That was amazing.
  16. ANYTHING by Bell's, they're wonderful!! I drive out of state just to get them. and New Holland Mad Hatter!
  17. Nope, but our copy has been missing since September 2005 (I work in a university library) so someone liked it enough to steal it from us. Here are some reviews of it on GoodReads, my new go-to for book suggestions.
  18. She's in there a few times. If you scroll to the bottom of the post there's a thing you can click for screencaps, and she's in a couple of those.
  19. A brand new Lost trailer has surfaced!! This one offers up MANY more clips from the new season than the one we were talking about. New trailer Also, a hilarious recap.
  20. Yeah, some of the earliest videos that surfaced were like people held up their camera phones to the theater screen... people are doing that with these mobisodes too, since they're sent to Verizon phones a week before they're posted on the ABC website. I love my fellow Lost fanatics.
  21. Are you talking about the one that's been running in movie theaters? Again, I refer you to this, the best Lost spoiler site I've seen. Here's the specific post with the trailer.
  22. I agree, those are the weak spots. I also think a problem with season 3 was the pacing--especially that 6-episode thing, which took place over what, 3 days? I've noticed the show's strength correlates to Locke's--when Locke is weak, the show is weak; when Locke is kicking ass, the show is kicking ass.
  23. You mean like the first 2/3 of season 3? I think now that they have an end point it's going to be way better. They know they have 48 episodes to reach the conclusion rather than stringing it along open-ended, wondering what they can answer and what they may have to keep for a story that will boost ratings 5 seasons from now. Even the webisodes they're releasing are superior to the first chunk of season 3. Now if only the strike would end...
