  1. or Dosh, since he wrote it as i stated above
  2. The Cure will EASILY get in
  3. The Pixies are still 7 years away from being eligible, but I can guarantee they'll get in, probably not first year, but still. Then again I don't think the Smiths would get in right away either. I don't know if the Replacements will ever be nominated, but I sure hope so. I can see them getting in over Husker Du (even though both deserve it)
  4. hahahahaha nope. and you want to know why? because Martin Dosh wrote the entire music to Simple X, and Martin was doing his electronic thing with his old bands WAY way before Kid A was even a glimmer in Tom Yorke's googly eye
  5. i guess i can't change your perception of him i've hung out w/ Ryan briefly and he was very humble and totally down to earth (granted this was 2001, but still), not to mention totally hilarious and a huge goofball.
  6. woah. i'd forgotten about TBK somewhat until yesterday when i was riding the bus home and i played the last record, what a coincidence
  7. oh? a lot of the shows were already sold out...
  8. he's a smartass, not a jerk big difference mostly cuz i'm the former and not the latter myself
  9. already scored a pretty sweet seat
  10. TheMaker, see Analogman's post, it's on the record i'd heard it wasn't on there initially too, but guess it is.
  11. i've only had one chance to buy it in the past and it was $45 (it goes for more than that on eBay) i would have bought it but even though it was supposedly "new", it was dinged up pretty badly
  12. Rich, that vinyl your buddy has is called Rated X, and is actually quite rare: http://www.discogs.com/release/487593 my fave is still the self-titled by far
  13. yeah, i'm curious what that 2nd one will be like myself...
  14. song kicks major ass. much better than the title cut (which apparently isn't on the record, which is fine by me) w/ Reznor
  15. it came w/ copies of JCN sold at Indie stores, i may have an extra actually...
  16. YOU think his music goes nowhere, i think Armchairs is one of the years best record (would be my #1 if not for Boxer) and that his melodies are incredibly catchy and infectious, his lyrics clever & witty, and his voice to die for... yeah, that's pretty dumb Ben did you think nobody would check?
  17. wow you're just a barrel of fun aren't you? hype? yeah... cuz nobody hear has been talking about Andrew for the last 3-4 years on Via (and even longer elsewhere/offline) you can consider him boring all you want, but Andrew is singlehandedly more talented than probably 90% of what gets discussed on this forum, and that's a fact jack.
  18. it's only hype if you buy into it... first heard Smile when the demos were going around like 2 years ago and liked it. sure i was disappointed w/ the record on the whole, but to say she has no talent is just not true, no matter if you like her or not. not tiptoeing around anything, if she sucked i'd be the first to say so. but i'll definitely say that Amy Winehouse is a much much better talent, Lily's just way way cuter
  19. boy you have a way with words...
  20. there's 3-4 great singles/tracks on the album, but on the whole it's not a great record at all. and yeah, it WAS released in the summer, last summer actually surprised they waited so long to push it here in the US though.
  21. my thoughts? i'm glad Joseph is having fun doing the rock star/band thing right now... it's really fun live... but as for this record? well Nuclear Daydream was his weakest up until this one, but now i'm pretty sure this is easily his weakest all around record. it's obviously a huge departure from the past being w/ the band, which i can understand, but other than 3-4 really great songs, not digging it too much. the 20 minutes song in the middle of the record has like 7-8 min of total masturbatory and pointless noise jamming in the middle (and i'm a huge Sonic Youth fan). i'm still excite
