ANDREW BIRD LIVE NOW AND REGINA and arcade fire coming up

considering he's been releasing records under his own name for over 10 years now... -
i can't see them doing an all instrumental record and then treating this is some big brand Beasties album as they have, and the Check Your Head comparison... i'll believe it when i hear it. i love their instrumentals (Jen, they actually pretty damn good musicians honestly...), but I want a new full on BBoys record to wash the taste of TT5B out of my mouth!

agreed. great song, but better not be one of the better songs on the record by any means. the fade doesn't ruin it, but it'd be better without it.
-
Liz, you're right, the :14 fade is on the album version according to the promo single
-
oh it's certainly not 5 stars, but it's easily 3.5-4, no question there

TheMaker, i actually prefer Modern Times out of the last 3... yeah that's not a popular opinion, but since when have I ever given a shit about that? i like it because it's fun, funny, and light hearted almost throughout the record. i actually laugh at a number of the lyrics on here, in good way. maybe that's part of it, maybe you think fun/silly = throwaway/lazy, and you want something more serious, i dunno. i also find his vocal performances on here some of his most enjoyable in the last decade too. that and I like the production more as well. regardless, i think it's a fine record, and

next time y'all are in Twist & Shout, tell Paul and/or Jill i say Hello

great to finally have all of this (and the few unheard tracks) in such great quality!
-
there's also tons of lyrical & melody similarities between Bob's early work and Woody too, so maybe he's always just been "lazy"...
-
by TheMaker's definition, unless something is groundbreaking or super original, it's not very good... glad i don't abide by that philosophy... and since Dylan's influences the last few records have been old blues and waltzy 40's & 50's type stuff, he's being "lazy"? what would make him not "lazy" in your opinion... a duet with Dre? having Dangermouse produce his record? the music he's created on the last 3 albums, like it or not, is timeless imo. no it's not his best work, but it's better than most any other 65 year old artist that is 40 years past his prime has created that i've heard a

it's not bad, but it so doesn't fit the overall vibe of the album and as a result sticks out like a sore thumb (ie: obvious single). shoulda been held over for a diff album or released as a b-side imo. plus like i said above, the lyrics are lame imo... musically it's fine
-
why's that?
-
if not for the new National record, it'd EASILY be mine
-
it's such a long/boring fade... ugh... fades
-
yeah, similiar thing when Intervention went up on iTunes as well also, the fade out on this single version better be just that, a single only thing
-
thanks, wasn't finding it at all last night or this morning
-
why isn't this on iTunes already?
-
pretty sure it's just processed guitar
-
good lord Jack wasn't kidding w/ that hitting every last province comment! that's just unheard of.. Canadian bands rarely tour that many places in CA
-
