  1. If you dance hard enough, all moisture gets excreted through your sweat glands. I danced so hard at the Columbia show that my pants fell off. oceanman knows. "Pants off dance off". :lol

Plus I only drink water, no booze. Alcohol is a diuretic which makes you have to pee.

Actually alcohol is an anti diuretic hormone inhibitor

  2. Max,

Thanks for adding an element that we no doubt would be missing had Jeff not made the 11th hour decision to add a horn section. To hear that you arranged the parts in such a short span of time is absolutely remarkable. It was good meeting you at the Fat Cat and I hope you were able to get the grenadine stain off your tuxedo shirt from Tuesday night.

    Kevin

11th hour is no shit! Max is probably being a bit modest by not sharing the fact that he had about 36 hours ( maybe less) to organize, compile, arrange, write, copy and rehearse prior to the opener on Friday night.

...and max is as nice as he is amazing

It was nice to meet you man!

    Rob

  3. I was there all 5 nights. Its obvious that the shows were cock. Friday was the best rock and roll show I have ever seen, and they just got better after that.

The realy cool thing about the residency for me was the totaly unexpected pleasure of standing in line for many, many cold hours with the salt of the earth! These people were great! It was harder to say goodbye to them than it was to see WILCO leave the stage for the last time on Wednesday night.

I hope they do it again. I hope they do it in Febuary again. A summer residency might bring out the weenies. The cold drives 'em away.

    :ohwell

...back to life, back to reality.

  4. It was a wonderful night...and then, after the show, a man kissed me. :cheekkiss Maybe I should have shaved...

Looking forward to seeing you all in Feb. :cheers

You are all a fun bunch, :worship I might even consider changing my name. :unsure

    Or not :stunned

Or maybe I'll stop using an emoticon after every sentence. :D

  5. i'm going to make sure that i have no night classes so i can hit all five nights up. i am more excited for this than for anything in my entire life!

i would be willing to drive for a carpool from milwaukee, which may include bunking together if we decide to be friends soon...

bus or train info sharing would be appreciated as well. how sweet would it be to have a bus with a few of us giddy freaks on it?

    pm me if interested

edit: megabus is a great deal...just a buck per seat at times, little more at others. FUN!

union station is 8 miles away from the riv, though...

I think a train car might be the ticket, ole girl, and a taxi at the end of the ride.

  6. DSC00474.JPGDSC00437.JPGDSC00460.JPGWas an amazing show. heres some pictures , not great, but they capture the insanity of the evening.

Been listening to the KC show, adn i have to ask, anyone see any tapers? don't want to fill myself full of false hope for a torrent if not...

On the way out I saw a mic stand with what I think were stereo mics on it near the sound board, but I was drunk from all the beer I drank. Oh wait...they didn't have beer!

  7. as far as American Brewed beers, drink any beer from Oregon, Denver-Boulder-Fort Collins, Milwaukee-Madison, Cleveland. too me the beer capitals...for example, Oregon-Full Sail Amber, Rogue, Denver-Fort Collins Brewer, Breckenridge Brewery, Boulder Beer Co., Milwaukee-Pabst, Leinekugel-all, Lakefront Brewery-all, Madison-Capital Brewery, Great Dane Brewery, New Glarus, Cleveland-Great Lakes-all

but since you are in Chicago, i guess i can recommend Goose Island-good

Leinekugel is from Chippewa Falls...closer to Minneapolis-St Paul which also has good beers (Summit)

  8. i buy a 12 pack of new belgium's fat tire almost every week, but their mothership wit is even better. they just don't carry it at my corner grocery like the FT. they did carry six packs of the seasonal 'skinny dip'...but i didn't really dig that all too much.

i also dig hoegaarden, but it's getting into stout season...so i'll probably switch over to having guinness on hand mostly.

I'm with this recomendation...we should go out drinkin'

  9. what's with nels and hitting his head on the chandelier? i didn't see it. rumor says hospital. anybody?

I saw a roadie hit his head before the show, between Bird and Wilco, so the stage crew took special care to point out the chandelier with flashlights as people got on stage. As they (Wilco)were leaving the stage after their last set someone smacked it hard enough to realy move it, I thout it was Glen, but it could have been Nels (considering the luck he's had latley). Who ever it was realy smacked it. They are huge, heavy chandeliers, and to move it would take some force! Ouch. :stunned

  10. Great show...nice sounding room. But no beer? A dry campus? Oh well, not everything can be perfect.

    Wilco just plain rocks :rock

Impossible Germany always makes me feel like I've had a sexual experience just standing there. That three guitar work that they do is awesome! :yay
