This might sound stupid but I think that’s my favorite Who song.
I am glad someone else has it as their favorite. I always played it when I was a kid. Never thought I would hear it Live...until the went out and toured Quad again. Since then, I have heard it a few more times and always sang as if I were back as In my teen years: “Why do I have to move with a crowd of kids who hardly notice I am around. I work myself to death, just to fit in.” Great lyric, Pete.

The Who - Cut My Hair
The Beatles - It’s All Too Much
Wilco - Feed the Man

This would make a great closing song of a concert. Everyone sings and affirms each other. Better yet, make it the first song of the first show. Then close it with a repeat performance. I know I can use a little cathartic release . . .

If you have yet to catch the Freddie Mercury show from 1992, you have until tonight (May 17). They will stop streaming it. The Bowie/Annie Lennox version of “Under Pressure” is terrific.

Not sure where to park this one, but the Radiohead Public Library is a fantastic site. You can easily lose yourself, sifting through the collection.
Jonny is curating today and he posted this beautiful video of Present Tense (you may have to scroll down to the third entry). Even more impressive is the Leinenkugel T-shirt.

Another nugget: go the Chicago Athletic Association and head to the second floor. The lobby is pretty cool (The Drawing Room), but you want to hit the Gameroom. They have football, pool, darts, indoor bocce. Dad can get adult beverages. Best to do it during the day. Bonus points for taking them up to Cindy’s (top floor) for photos of the city.

Check out the Museum of Broadcast Communications. They currently have an exhibit on Rock and Television: https://museum.tv

I snagged a T-shirt and the Civic Opera poster from 2011.

I got a ticket for the Chicago show. My thinking was similar to Worldrecordplayer: the lineup + songs are too good to pass up.

Thanks for the set list. When you do get a chance to reflect, how does the new material sound? Will you want to stand? Sit? High five the person next to you?

Bruce Cockburn in “”Last Night of the World”:
“I'm sipping Flor De Caña* and lime juice, it's three a.m.
Blow a fruit fly off the rim of my glass
The radio's playing Superchunk and the friends of Dean Martinez”
-
House of Love - "Beatles and the Stones" (also Mott The Hoople's "All The Young Dudes")
And then mentions T Rex :
“Television man is crazy saying we're juvenile delinquent wrecks
Oh, Man, I need TV when I've got T.Rex”

I heard “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows, and the reference to Bob Dylan. I started wondering, who is alluded to more in song: Bob Dylan or The Beatles?
Dylan: “The Seeker” by The Who, and “Bob Dylan’s
49th Beard” by Wilco;
The Beatles have “Life in a Northern Town” by the Dream Academy, “The Seeker” (The Who), and “Ballad of John and Yoko.”
I know there are more but my procrastination to avoid work got the best of me. I know of other allusions - “Frank Zappa and the Mother’s” is in Deep Purple’s
“Smoke on the Water.”
Any help?

If they were to release one without much fanfare, why not do it on the eve of Solid Sound? Those in attendance get to listen to its debut and, as an added bonus, everyone leaves with a copy as you exit the gate.
Or instead the band plays April Wine and Asia covers.

Radiohead - Pittsburgh, Floor.
-
Great show last night in Milwaukee. I focused in on the drummer during Under the Pressure and was awed. The lights, sound, musicianship, all amazing. Damn.
-
Looking forward to Pittsburgh and will be on the floor. Hoping for Talk Show Host and Fake Plastic Trees amongst a rather long wish list.
-
I saw The Cars live. Unless the remaining members were playing a free show with free beer and an all you can eat buffet, I vowed never see them again.

Always great to wake up to discover that Radiohead is heading out on an arena tour (sorry for the formatting issues):
