Feed of Man - this deserves to be played more often.

I love it. I wish more artists would take a stand. Remember the artist boycott of Sun City? It certainly helped to raise awareness about apartheid. I wish the NCAA would show some balls, too.
-
In addition, Wilco would also play the intro to "We Don't Get Fooled Again" as a seque intto Outtasite (Outta Mind) circa 2000. I know I have it on the Rocking The River recording. I, for one, would be all over a colloboration.

I did that for the first night (via obsessive/internet poll illegal level of ballot box stuffing) to no avail. Fake Plastic Trees is hands down my favorite song of all time and I got to hear Jeff do it at a solo show back in 2009. Could you imagine Nels doing Jonny's lead on that song?! My head would explode. Best of luck!
I know. This would be a real treat to hear. I add those same sentiments in my "dedication" request. Fingers crossed!

I am doing my damnedest to get Fake Plastic Trees for the 12th.
-
I got a single in the sixth row, too. I will be the one who will be spending the next two months requesting "Feed of Man."
Persistence finally paid off!

Great show...and plus they played my request of "Feed of Man." The song clearly rocks. I hope it makes more future appearances.

looking for alcohol-free activities to do in Chicago? Which museum is most worth a visit?
Chicago Art Institute is terrific and walkable from the Taste area. There is also the Field Museum, too. Skip the Ripley's Believe it or Not at Navy Pier.

Go to Rossi's Liquors. It is on 412 State St. Greatest dive bar in the Loop. I suggest a Malort and an Anti-Hero to wash it down. Then stumble down to the Billy Goat.

Got a notice from the City Winery mailing list in Chicago that Jay Farrar's playing 2 solo dates here in April. Looks like some other towns too. Bought a ticket for the Friday Chicago show. Thought it was worth giving a heads-up to others who might want to see him solo. http://www.jayfarrar.net/tour/
City Winery's kind of a classy room with cheap tickets (like $25) and an expensive and fancy menu, and they try to get you in there early to run up a hefty food and beverage tab. Had some pork belly with mole last time I was there (seeing Calexico) that I still have dreams about. Mmmmm. Mole.
Thanks for the heads up. I picked up two for the Friday show.

Thanks for sharing! For a song that they have not dusted off since 2001, they did an awesome job. This is one that they should put back in the rotation. Again...thanks.

I am so fired up about Feed of Man. Way too long for them not to bust it out. I can only hope there is audio of it since my recordings ("Rock the River" and Grant Park gig) are getting up there in age. Sigh.

Feed of man needs to turn up before this tour's over!
I have been requesting this one for two years. When they used to play it during the Mermaid Ave II tour, it always rocked. Here is hoping that someday it will see the light!
-
I can confirm that the Chicago date was listed as July 12 at Toyota Park.

Terrific to read these comments. It is so well worth it to see this tour. I love "Cut My Hair," and it was great to hear it live as well as all of the other songs off of the album get their proper due. Thanks for the posts.

That's the spirit, man! The Who is one of those bands that deserve to be handed down from generation to generation. At their best they're simply without peer when it comes to embodying the ideals of Rock.
Nicely stated. I direct my students to check out the Isle of Wight dvd for proof of great live rock.
I am glad that they are getting some positive, later in life attention again. It was great to see them do this Quad tour, and I would love to see another show during the upcoming second leg.

I went to the show last night in Chicago, and they rocked. It was better than I expected. If you are going, you will not be disappointed. In addition, be sure to get there to catch the opening band (Vintage Trouble). Great night all around.
-
Hmm, I'm thinking that's not gonna happen...
I just want to hear Naked Eye. I have been waiting too many years to miss it.
-
Thanks for posting. I am fired up for the Chicago show.
-
Anyone know anything about Vintage Trouble, the opening band for The Who on this first leg of the Quad tour?
-
A last minute executive decision was made to attend tonight's show: anyone have two? If so please send me a message!
Thanks

I hope he joins them the night before - that is when I have my tickets. I am getting fired up for the tour, and I am excited that "A Quick One" and "Slip Kid" have made it into set lists. Add "Naked Eye" to the mix, and I will rest in peace.
