  1. Was checking out some memorabilia auction and found this.

$500 total payment for performance is nuts.

They also have Dylans guitar that he played on stage for many years and he sold to Larry Cragg (who was / is a guitar tech).  He is Neil Youngs guy now and keeps Old Black working...Bid on that starts at $300,000.

  2. Man you guys are tough...LOL.

The price of tickets is really not something to pick on though.  They all get what they can from Wilco to GNR to Metallica to U2 to Springsteen.  Why are any of those bands worth anymore then any other band.  He is selling that place 2 nights...pretty...pretty...Good.  Bruno Mars is is coming down and you cant get a lower bowl seat for under $300

I have only seen him when I am flipping and he does kind of seem boring but I think he was in a band with some decent guys once.....and copy and paste............Black Country Communion is an English-American hard rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2009, the band is a supergroup composed of bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes, guitarist and vocalist Joe Bonamassa, drummer and backing vocalist Jason Bonham, and keyboardist Derek Sherinian. Originally formed by Hughes and Bonamassa with the help of producer Kevin Shirley, the group released its self-titled debut album in September 2010. Second album Black Country Communion 2 followed in June 2011, which was promoted on a European tour later in the year. The band released its third album Afterglow in October 2012.

  3. Overall a great show IMO.

    A few thoughts

Anytime you get ILTWYS, Handshake, IG, and Reservations in 1 show that is a great thing.

Cal Stars was amped up and best version I heard live.

Nels seemed kind of chill (compared to other times I have seen recently) but his playing is amazing.

Pat is really great and can do it all.

Never noticed that Glenn holds stick in left hand with tip not hitting skins (kind of backwards).  Not sure if this is normal for drummers.

Really appreciative crowd and 95% stood the entire time, which I always like.  Only couple in best seats in house (1st row center, center) sat the entire time.  Was surprised Jeff did not call them out.  They were paying attention so maybe that is why he did not.

    Jeff had the braids.

Was feeling Hoodoo at the end but not to be....Roadie looked the part, so I was hoping.

A great career defining set with songs from all periods......a real professional band.

Nice meeting and hanging with bbop before the show.

Just happy to be able see the band before they break from the road for a while.

  4. I plead guilty this time! Please tell me where to direct the fine... :ninja

Honestly I can't really think of much else to say about this one that hasn't already been said. I found it kind of amusing that when Jeff first checked in with the audience, he said, "It's been awhile." I mean, I know it had been 20 months since Wilco last played in Atlanta (two shows, no less), but there were other stops on this tour — and elsewhere, I'm sure — where it had been eight years! Just trying to keep perspective, but I'm glad all the Atlantans (ATLiens?) had a good time! ;)

Just about the only other thing Jeff said aside from the "guy with four phones" interlude, which also included a comment that "I can't get a good read on your guys," was reiterating his usual "Take care of each other, don't get discouraged, don't get cynical" line near the end of the show. Once again, he was not exactly super gabby. :chatterbox

Has anyone else noticed that Jeff has been noodling on his guitar a bit lately before starting some songs? He's definitely been doing it before Someone To Lose, so much that I almost get the slightest hope that he'll actually go into a different song — not that I dislike STL, relatively speaking — and I think he was doing it a bit before Bull Black Nova as well. He also did a little vocal noodling of sorts before Handshake Drugs last night, playing it off as "Wilco warmups...that's what pros do" (i.e. not warm up their voices until the show is actually happening). Anyway, probably the kind of observations that only an idiot like me would make. :devil

Last thing: The lack of the count-in to Monday is still annoying me. Onward to Asheville... :frusty

We will be there too. Any chance to meet up before for a cocktail or mocktail if your not a drinker.

  5. goes without saying that even a "Seated Venue" people will stand at shows.  Most if not all venues have seats but people dont always sit.  I just saw Metallica at Dolphin Stadium and we were up all night...same with U2...Same with GNR.  It becomes an issue when its 50-50.  Wilco many times falls into that category.

  6. A friend of mine saw them the other night and told me they are down to only two original members on stage now. Sad to hear, but I guess playing a horn for several hours can become difficult when you're in your 70's.

Not as bad as you think or as bad as some others.  Such as Boston (1 original left).

  7. I did a search for FM and this is what came up.

Wanted to give a shout out to Lindsey Buckingham and how great of a player he is.  I saw a youtube from this weekend show (Classic West).  He is very underrated.  Very unique sound and he has what looks like a custom guitar (same one he has been playing since at least Tusk tour).  It is not a standard Gibson or Fender.

Read the thread and to talk bout the teleprompter.  Last time I saw FM, I was sitting side stage and was looking at a monitor that feeds Stevie Nicks teleprompter and it was crazy, had all the song lyrics as well as what she would say in between songs.  Even had something like (during Gypsy) that said go to back of stage in get Gypsy Cape.  Nuts.

Still a great show and it felt all live to me.

Will go see them again if they come to SF.
